"People are always saying don't talk about the elephant in the room, but if I came home and if there was an elephant just hanging out there, you better believe I'm telling everyone" There are actually people in the review section saying things like: "I actually hate pixel graphics…" Of course, everyone’s entitled to their own opinions and preferences but hate is a pretty strong word. And sorry if I’m being a bit of a fact machine here, but what we see in The Darkside Detective is pixel art, it's a bit like when someone says a movie is "black and white" and you reply: "Sure but actually it's noir and that's a style, not a lack of color." It thrives on reduction and the creative use of limitations, while still encompassing a wide spectrum of artistic styles and atmospheres. For me games like Undertale, Norco or Celeste hold just as much value as titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed or The Last of Us, as long as they’re well made. The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark pulled it off again and I had a great time with it. Sure the cases felt pretty different this time around but honestly, that’s kind of what sequels do. There weren’t as many pop culture references as before, but there was still loads of humor. The puzzles stay true to the classic point-and-click style: fair, engaging and never really frustrating. But what truly brings the game to life is its dialogue: sharp-witted, funny and brimming with charm. I can’t say for sure whether McQueen and Dooley are still on vacation, but the devs once mentioned they see the series as a trilogy, so it’s really just a matter of time until something new drops and honestly, I’ll be keeping an ear to the ground.

An enjoyable follow-up to the Darkside Detective; it's more of the same and about twice as much of it. After resolving the cliffhanger from the first game the siren call of the weird drags McQueen and Dooley around, within, and beyond the borders of their occult-besieged town, with carnivals, wrestlers, goblins, druids, retirees, giant monsters, and more causing various types of supernatural mayhem. It's still funny, sarcastic, and ridiculous. Dooley is still a doofus, McQueen is still put-upon. You co-workers still think you're a loon. In other words, it's business as usual in Twin Lakes, and if you enjoyed the first one, you'll enjoy this too.

Upping their game by including a notable audio track, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark continues to deliver the "cheeky" storytelling that made the original game a hit with fans of the paranormal. Humorus, witty, and engaging; the Darkside Detective part 2 is fun to play through providing a break from everyday boredom. Rated 7 out of 10.

An excellent follow up to an already amazing game. McQueen still not getting any credit for his work is a bit annoying after all this time though.

After playing the first game, I just had to pick up this one too - I love the humour of these games, and the cases are fun to solve without being too challenging. I can only hope they release more games in the future!

Compared to the first game, the puzzles and jokes in the sequel are mediocre.

The same wonderful humor and mostly-solid solutions (it's still a point-and-click after all).

If you are a horror lover and love a good point and click, BUY THIS!!! All the references had me laughing so much and the puzzles were good and challenging but not so hard you got frustrated!!!! I highly recommend!!!
