1 and 2 were nice, some stuff i don't like but they were fun, but 3 is not fun at all. Areas too large to remember every tiny thing, going to the wrong room multiple times bc they look similar from the outside. Boring puzzles, multiple of the worst type of puzzle. To get the multiple endings, you have to replay the same part of the game 4 different times, a part that is very uninteresting and boring, not fun!!! I don't even remember the first few chapters, I can just remember redoing the same things

That was, the room, three.
Probably the best out of the original trilogy and the different endings were nice if not a bit confusing to get

They've tried a new approach compared to the first two games of the series and I hated it. Navigating through the mansion was a chore and branching endings just don’t suit this kind of game

I have grown so wonderfully fond of this series. Played entirely on the Steam Deck with no adjustments at all and carries my highest recommendation for the system. It should absolutely be marked Verified, in addition to the previous 2 games. I will say however, that while the trackpad is amazing the game requires a lot of trigger pull-scrolling to get around, which is occasionally tedious when you're trying to cover larger movements.
Each game gets bigger and bolder, and I really feel like this one in particular found it's footing. The puzzles are clever, unique and if you do need a hint, it's never so blatant that it spoils figuring it out. I personally used the hints for moments that I knew what to do, but couldn't figure out how the game wanted me to do it (which is my main gripe with the series).
If you are a fan of puzzles, I think this series is extremely worth the price and is on sale very frequently. I was able to get all 4 in a bundle.

this game was funnn! there was a lot more going back and forth in this game than the last two due to there being more rooms. there is the centre table (nearer the end of the game) and then 5 rooms i think that branch off of it, i did find i kept going in the wrong one every now and then but its fine lol. i do think the end game was a bit harder than the last due to the different endings, and i did cheat a bit and use a tutorial online to help because we were getting very stumped on what to do,,, but it was still very fun and i really liked the different endings, it was cool! Do reccomend giving this a go if you like puzzle games because the puzzles were great as usual :D

While greatly expanded with elements from the previous two games (now there's a hub room with multiple rooms where each chapter is accessed), personally this is my least favourite, mainly of how tedious the game can be due to going back and forth just for each part to a mechanism and especially figuring out in getting the endings. That said, while not as much as the two previous games, I still had fun with figuring things out and knowing the conclusion to the journey. 8/10.

Too many unnecessary sub-parts to solve a single puzzle. You need to click way too many times and fiddle with too many small bits just to solve ONE thing e.g. slide open a panel, flick switches, spin dials, arrange camera, turn keys etc.
There’s too much jumping between puzzles within a single stage. You need to find an item from one puzzle just to use it in another, then needing something else from a third puzzle to solve the first. Not only that, there are layers to each puzzle in a single stage. It gets disorienting fast, and by the time you circle back, it’s easy to forget where each item even belongs or what you haven't solved.
If you're going to make players go back and forth between so many puzzles, at least let us FREE ROAM. Having to watch the same animation of moving between areas got so boring SO fast. Not only that, the animation deposits you facing a preset direction so then you have to keep swinging the camera to where you want.
Same for having to wait to obtain your item/key/whatever. I don't need to watch the animation of how it's made, surrounding areas move, mechanical parts align all pretty. JUST GIVE ME THE ITEM. Even more so that some animations get repeated and you have to essentially watch the same thing several times.
At some point, the same puzzle type was repeated. Again. More clicking.
Solutions aren't intuitive and seem completely arbitrary. Often with more unnecessary clicking.

I like The Room games. If you like physical puzzle boxes and escape rooms you'll like this game. It's a good continuation to part 2 with the same escape room style. Puzzles are for most part intuitive, the only one I got stuck on was crystals past the main game, I just couldn't find either and had to look them up, but that might just be me. One thing I didn't like was the amount of endings, if Escaped and Released endings were removed the game would flow much better and I'm guessing the developers agree since the 4th part has only 1 ending.

The 3rd game in The Room series continues the story, this time longer, interconnected puzzles, worldbuilding and backstory found through notes and the environment, overall builds on the previous games.
There are 4 different endings which adds to the replay value of the game.
If you played the first two Room games, the 3rd one is even bigger and better keeping the interconnected puzzles, the cosmic horror and mysterious setting, creative and challenging puzzles the series is known for.

First played this on mobile phone and was delighted to see it was available on PC so I could see what it was meant to look like. The challenge is fair and the lore is fantastic as well. Hope more of these games are made as I enjoy coming back to play them over and over.

Great game, so cool to see this franchise developing. Interesting mechanics, sometimes repetitive but in such a beautiful game it's still great.

Actually got a little easier this time around, not gonna lie. I did end up consulting a guide after seeing the multiple endings to see what the key triggers were to get each ending but other than that, wow, really well designed puzzles! I love the setting, I love the flow from one puzzle to the next which is seamless.
Once again if you liked Room 1 and 2, you'll love Room 3.
I don't know why you'd be consulting a review for Room 3 without playing 1 and 2, but if you like Point & Click with Escape Room vibes? This is your itch-scratcher!

The Puzzles feel the same but how it takes place in more than one room now makes it easy to get lost. I have to inspect every inch of an area until I'm sure I've done enough to move to another and that is where the trouble starts as I forget bits and pieces between areas. If this game allowed free range movement instead of First Person Point and Click traversal, I could get used to multiple rooms. It's just when you have to backtrack, it takes committing to clicks to reach that before area. It just lead to me forgetting a bunch of stuff and getting very annoyed.

I must admit some of the gameplay is very janky. Sometimes our character just moves too slowly, especially when getting all of the endings, it can be a drag to travel to so many different rooms, so many times. But I did really enjoy the puzzles and the story as well. It is also a lot longer than the previous entries into the series. There were many different puzzles, while some were repeated more than others, it still kept me pretty engaged.

In my opinion the best one in the series, it has great set-pieces and very interesting puzzles. It's also the only game in the series (Dark Matter excluded because I haven't played that one) with multiple endings and solving the necessary puzzles to get those alternate endings is great. Well worth the money, especially, when this game goes on sale.

I'm going to leave the same review for all 4 games, because if you're interested enough to click on one and read reviews to figure out if it's worth buying, then you're equally interested in all of them. Because fundamentally it's the same game, with 4 different chapters.
Do I recommend the series? I absolutely do. If you enjoy puzzle games generally, you're a sucker for Cthulhu-vibes, and you have fond memories of things like Myst or Monkey Island or other point-and-click riddle games, you should absolutely get this whole series and play it through.
If you don't know whether you like puzzle games or not, because you've never played them (especially on the PC, maybe you've just done some mobile gaming?) then this is an extremely solid, exceptionally affordable entry to the genre, especially when they're all on sale and you can pick up all four for around £6.
The games increase in length as they go on, with the first being the shortest, solvable in I'd say about 2-4 hours depending on how experienced/good you are at puzzlers. The third was the longest for me, at 5+ hours. So for the series in total you're looking at about 20 hours? It's all a bit down to the player.
The devices in the games are generally satisfying to move around, with nice audio feedback with solid clicks, thumps, whirring and so on. Some of the lens-based puzzles were a tiny bit less impressive on this front, because you're not operating 'reality' per se. But that's not a detraction from the game at all. Very few, if any, of the puzzles break immersion by violating the spatial capacity of the objects they're made from - each box, desk or prop feels as though it could fully contain the components you manipulate and reveal, and you find yourself almost marvelling at the engineering, forgetting it's an entirely virtual construct.
I think in each game I clicked the hint button once. Maybe twice in the longer ones. Generally not because I was stuck on a puzzle - they're all fairly self-contained and intuitive, which is great - but because I was moving between puzzles and there was no obvious link that connected one to the next. Sure, I could have blindly hunted around for ages fiddling with every thing on every screen, but really the only reason to not click the hint button if you're super stuck is your own ego. It's not like you get an achievement or a different ending based on how many times you clicked it.
The first game is definitely suitable for playing with children, the cosmic horror elements are negligible. The second through fourth games are a bit scarier, so you might want your kids to be a bit older before playing, and you might want to play through first to be sure you're happy with the cutscenes.
Overall, I really enjoyed the series, getting fantastic value for money when they're on sale, and enjoying almost every aspect of them.
If the Devs are to continue creating games like this, or might revisit the franchise in the future, I'd only offer two main bits of minor improvement:
- I was hoping for some easter eggs by using the lens in places not obviously designed to prompt you to put it on. For example when flicking through books, or moving between rooms, or behind/under objects. Maybe they exist and I just didn't find them? But a couple of hidden messages that aren't related to the puzzles, but simply add to the plot or feel of the game would be great!
- I think my biggest frustration was when presented with something with no indication that it was movable in a particular direction. Off the top of my head, I think in number 3, or end of number 2, there was a hollow metal rectangle that you could move around the rim of a circular table using a crank handle which you found and stuck onto it, but there was no hint whatsoever that you could also raise and lower the rectangle, as well as move it around the rim. Sure, you can make the player mindlessly drag every single puzzle element up, down, left, right, around, in, out and so on - but it'd be a lot easier on my mouse hand (and slightly less rage inducing...) if the metal shape had simply been a stylised vertical arrow or something that gave a hint, however subtle, that it could be raised.
That said, those are extremely minor gripes. These are excellent games, worth your time, stimulate your brain, and have excellent visual and sound design that are perfect for relaxing at the end of the day, playing before you go to bed, or completing with your (not super young) kids. Also, from an accessibility point of view, there are no timed challenges, and no way to 'fail' anything. Take your time, look around, and enjoy the escapism!

Not nearly as good as the first two games. It's strangely muddled and overcomplicated, where less would have been more. I had to frequently use the hints because so many things just didn't make intuitive sense. Disappointing.

What else is there to say about the Room Series? If you like puzzle games then all four (five if you have access to VR) of these games are just fabulous. Not particularly difficult but requires some logic and memory to succeed. 100% worth the price of admission!

I've been playing these games since I was a kid and I didn't understand English back then. It was enjoyable to solve without the story, and it was enjoyable to play all the games again with the new ones, now understanding the incredible storytelling and appreciating the graphics

I have played other games in the The Room Series and enjoyed the puzzles.... This one was pure annoying that I am unable to finish the game. I am using mouse and keyboard during this game, like the others I have played, but the controls are ass.
Moving objects by clicking and holding the mouse button is not a great experience for me. The items move extremely slow, if they move at all. Almost as if you were playing with glue. Navigation and looking around was never an issue, it was only with interacting with things. As a result, this game is unplayable.

It seems like Fireproof Games have learned what was good about TR1 and what didn't work in TR2.
The technical issues that TR2 had were mostly fixed (there are now only few frametime issues, but I could mostly play at 4k with max settings and have a stable 60fps, most of the time, though the volumetric fog still has issues).
The "scary bits" of TR2 that I didn't care for are now gone and TR3 goes more into a mystery vibe than a scary vibe, which is a very pleasant direction.
The areas very pleasing, the puzzles new and engaging and the game flowed well for the most part.
The focus was less on individual things (as was the case in TR1) and started to have more of a Myst feel, though without the blabbering NPCs, which is great.
I enjoyed the alternate endings as an idea, however their execution was somewhat repetitive and getting the second mysterious artefact was far from obvious, borderline hidden (esp. the chandelier part). I'd have liked an option to speed up the transition animations between the areas, especially for the alternate endings.
The puzzle where you steer through a labyrinth with 3 buttons was very tedious.

Good game, lots to do. Just a couple of things annoyed me.
1. For some reason it got really laggy (Sub 10fps) and as there is no way to save and restart the game I had to deal with it. Restarting after a checkpoint fixed it back to 144.
2. While I like the idea of multiple endings, they were so annoying to get, definitely near impossible without a steam guide.
Other than that i enjoyed this game and would recommend to buying.

Awesome. It just keeps getting better.
I felt this one had you using the hints more just to figure out where to go. The different puzzles could've been linked together a bit better.
But other than that it's more of the same but better!

I loved this game. It's significantly longer than the other three in the series, and took me over twice as long as each of the others (which all took me about the same amount of time, between 4 and 5 hours), so you can really dig your teeth in and come back to it over a handful of sittings.
This game has a central area from which you travel to other areas, solve puzzles, and return to the main area. It's a bit less linear than the other games in the series as there's some puzzles in the main area (which has multiple wings) that you don't need to do in a particular order. You could do them in between traveling to the other areas, or all at the end, for example. I really liked this element of the Room 3. It made me feel as I went along that there was something I was missing, which added to the atmosphere of spooky forbidden science. I really liked the ending, it was totally unexpected and not something I've seen before in an escape room game!
The Room 3 also introduces a new mechanic with the lens, building on the previous two games. In a lot of puzzle games, the lore is basically set dressing for the puzzles, but The Room series incorporates it a little more. I think this one is trying to even be "scary" but that's hard for a point and click to do.
I replayed the ending to make sure I found everything and it was worth it! A very satisfying game overall.

My absolute favourite so far! It had the flow of Room 1 with lots of sprinkles on top. The items and boxes look so detailled and pretty and I absolutely loved the added extra story layer.
The sheer quality of each item is a thing of beauty and the athmosphere just draws you in.
I hope this game never gets easier, the puzzles are fun this way!
Only thing I'd like to see is: When hints are turned off, I don't want the lens to give me blotches of hints either. If they are relevant to the story and mechanics, all fine, but sometimes they gave a too clear hint of where to go next^^'
P.S. Also: The puzzles and riddles follow a beautiful logic. Noticed that while playing other puzzle games that felt more like they had a Grimtale touch.

The 3rd room game I've played, I'll play the 4th tomorrow. This game seemed longer than the 1st and 2nd instalment, the graphics seem a touch higher as well, but the graphics in all games so far has been great. There seems to be a bit more depth and areas to explore in this game vs the first 2 games. I recommend getting the bundle of the 4 games of "The Room." To the developers: hopefully we get some more games like this, make the mouse functionality a bit more smooth please. Minor spoiler alert, I found the constellations on the globe with the cross hair a bit tedious, it took me a while to find the first pattern, if the globe moved faster and further it wouldn't be as much of an issue. Other than that another great game, thank you. I'm looking forward to playing the 4th game!

ENGLISH
Next great step in this amazing puzzle game saga. Better puzzles, better plot, better graphics and with a much longer duration that the previous 2 games. It's a marvelous game, although I must admit that its four endings seem to me, not unnecessary, but rather laborious to achieve as you
have to solve the same puzzles over and over again in order to open different doors
, and that becomes a pain in the ass. Despite this, I find it a 100% recommended video game to play and complete

More ambitious and atmospheric than the previous entries. Contains a more in-depth story, interesting puzzles and multiple endings to the game and the Protagonist. Quite fun, but a bit frustrating at times when it's not clear what to do. Controls in certain areas isn't well-suited for mouse, which could've been improved, but overall a good game.

So far, the worst in the series I've played. Slow, basic "puzzles" (there are barely any actual puzzles in this one, have they always been this easy and boring?), unnecessarily large areas, and worst of all a bug that makes the game nearly unbeatable. This one likes to make the player spin things, and doing it quickly works but if you need to move something with any level of precision you better pray. Whatever you're spinning will start jittering like mad, jerking around at high speeds. When released, all the momentum it built up is applied at once and it flies into the incorrect spot. Playing the game is an absolute slog fest. Play literally any other puzzle box game unless you're desperate. There's nothing here worth the time. I'm just glad I got it cheap because I'd be refunding this one.
