Brilliant fun. Beautiful graphics, satisfying mechanical sounds, perfect music. Puzzles are not too difficult so you don't get frustrated, I only used hints a in a few places. Relaxing play, which some days is just what you're in the mood for. Worth every penny, I will be getting the entire series.

I'm going to leave the same review for all 4 games, because if you're interested enough to click on one and read reviews to figure out if it's worth buying, then you're equally interested in all of them. Because fundamentally it's the same game, with 4 different chapters. Do I recommend the series? I absolutely do. If you enjoy puzzle games generally, you're a sucker for Cthulhu-vibes, and you have fond memories of things like Myst or Monkey Island or other point-and-click riddle games, you should absolutely get this whole series and play it through. If you don't know whether you like puzzle games or not, because you've never played them (especially on the PC, maybe you've just done some mobile gaming?) then this is an extremely solid, exceptionally affordable entry to the genre, especially when they're all on sale and you can pick up all four for around £6. The games increase in length as they go on, with the first being the shortest, solvable in I'd say about 2-4 hours depending on how experienced/good you are at puzzlers. The third was the longest for me, at 5+ hours. So for the series in total you're looking at about 20 hours? It's all a bit down to the player. The devices in the games are generally satisfying to move around, with nice audio feedback with solid clicks, thumps, whirring and so on. Some of the lens-based puzzles were a tiny bit less impressive on this front, because you're not operating 'reality' per se. But that's not a detraction from the game at all. Very few, if any, of the puzzles break immersion by violating the spatial capacity of the objects they're made from - each box, desk or prop feels as though it could fully contain the components you manipulate and reveal, and you find yourself almost marvelling at the engineering, forgetting it's an entirely virtual construct. I think in each game I clicked the hint button once. Maybe twice in the longer ones. Generally not because I was stuck on a puzzle - they're all fairly self-contained and intuitive, which is great - but because I was moving between puzzles and there was no obvious link that connected one to the next. Sure, I could have blindly hunted around for ages fiddling with every thing on every screen, but really the only reason to not click the hint button if you're super stuck is your own ego. It's not like you get an achievement or a different ending based on how many times you clicked it. The first game is definitely suitable for playing with children, the cosmic horror elements are negligible. The second through fourth games are a bit scarier, so you might want your kids to be a bit older before playing, and you might want to play through first to be sure you're happy with the cutscenes. Overall, I really enjoyed the series, getting fantastic value for money when they're on sale, and enjoying almost every aspect of them. If the Devs are to continue creating games like this, or might revisit the franchise in the future, I'd only offer two main bits of minor improvement: - I was hoping for some easter eggs by using the lens in places not obviously designed to prompt you to put it on. For example when flicking through books, or moving between rooms, or behind/under objects. Maybe they exist and I just didn't find them? But a couple of hidden messages that aren't related to the puzzles, but simply add to the plot or feel of the game would be great! - I think my biggest frustration was when presented with something with no indication that it was movable in a particular direction. Off the top of my head, I think in number 3, or end of number 2, there was a hollow metal rectangle that you could move around the rim of a circular table using a crank handle which you found and stuck onto it, but there was no hint whatsoever that you could also raise and lower the rectangle, as well as move it around the rim. Sure, you can make the player mindlessly drag every single puzzle element up, down, left, right, around, in, out and so on - but it'd be a lot easier on my mouse hand (and slightly less rage inducing...) if the metal shape had simply been a stylised vertical arrow or something that gave a hint, however subtle, that it could be raised. That said, those are extremely minor gripes. These are excellent games, worth your time, stimulate your brain, and have excellent visual and sound design that are perfect for relaxing at the end of the day, playing before you go to bed, or completing with your (not super young) kids. Also, from an accessibility point of view, there are no timed challenges, and no way to 'fail' anything. Take your time, look around, and enjoy the escapism!

It takes me time to get through the game, others can probably finish sooner. I enjoy the puzzles and jumping from one room to another. A lot of fun and thought went into developing and I appreciate it . Thanks

Just finished the game and OMFG, The Room 4 is probably my favourite out of the series! It is almost perfect. I wish they had kept the multiple endings type end-game from The Room 3 but that is just a small longing. Highly recommend.

After my mixed experienced with the third game, this one is a way way better experience. Solving the puzzles and navigating the different rooms of the dollhouse was a blast and is surprisingly not tedious unlike my experience with the previous game. This game has a completely new story, but maintains the familiar Null element continuity from the previous. I find the plot much easier to follow compared to the previous trilogy, so kudos to that. The stunning visuals and creative mechanisms once again reminded me of why I absolutely loved these games. Solid 10/10.

I like The Room games. If you like physical puzzle boxes and escape rooms you'll like this game. I did find this one a bit overwhelming at some points because of how many areas are accessible with many puzzles in each one and had to use a hint 3 times, while I completed predecessors without any hints. A few puzzles I felt were unintuitive, but that might be just me. Overall still enjoyed my experience. My only slight complaint is that transition between areas is cool at first, but after a while it becomes annoying when you have to jump between different areas.

FIreproof Games keeps one-upping themselves with this series, 4 games in and I'm still not bored in the slightest. meticulous design and intricate puzzle mechanics alongside in-depth universe/lore building places The Room 4 even higher above the other already great installments in this series.

The game was quite challenging at some points, but not because of some errors of its own (I didn't find any), but because of my own inability to realize I have to go to past rooms again and again to solve the present ones. It really gives my brain a workout since I can't also really accept help from others. The story is very interesting, quite unique I might say and I like it a lot. Hope you too have fun playing it! ^^

Love the vibe of the game. But I gotta say one thing, there are a lot of bullshit situations. Such as in the art studio where you randomly have to figure out that you have to paint. Or in the study where there is like 20 drawers in one.

Really fun puzzles and a nice creepy atmosphere! The puzzles are challenging, but intuitive. In-game hints were helpful while still making progression rewarding. Best 'The Room' game, yet!

I've always held this game series close to my heart, and I never saw that a fourth game came out. So of course I had to replay all the games, and I was not disappointed. It was an absolute treat to find pieces of puzzles and be able to recall where they went. Not only were the puzzles very entertaining, but the story you get to follow really kept my attention. It was so fun to revisit these games and be thoroughly impressed by this installment. I cannot recommend this game enough!

I've been playing these games since I was a kid and I didn't understand English back then. It was enjoyable to solve without the story, and it was enjoyable to play all the games again with the new ones, now understanding the incredible storytelling and appreciating the graphics

An excellent successor in the series. The technical issues that troubled TR2 and to a small extent TR3 are now fully gone. You can enjoy the game without any frametime hiccups whatsoever. They have improved the flow and navigation around rooms in a very clever way and also give you a good indication of how much of the game is still left. The flow was very nice and most of the puzzles were in a sweet spot of difficulty. The joy of opening a new puzzle within a puzzle is still there. I really enjoy that I can play at my own speed and am not being talked at. There were no overly long animations, with the exception of the menu text appearing slowly, which is very unnecessary and just serves as a small speed bump, but luckily only in the beginning while you're changing settings. Overall very well done. One of my favorite puzzle games.

If they keep making them, I'll keep buying them. This one was better than the 3rd but the transitions with the eye piece got a little annoying after a while. Would be nice to see a toggle for that. Other than that it's a much better paced game than the last. Also this would make one of the best AR games once we start getting augmented reality games. Whenever that will be.

This game was fun! I found it easier than the first three games in the series though, which was a little disappointing. Most of the time when you pick up an item it's obvious where it's supposed to go. When you first enter a room, and look around with the lens, basically everything that can be interacted with is highlighted by glowing blue marks on/around/next to it. That took away a lot of the difficulty in a point and click that comes from figuring out what stuff you can interact with. It's all just laid out for you. However, the Room 4 has a handful of more actual "puzzle" puzzles which I enjoyed. This added nicely to the "pick up an object, figure out where to put it" that comes standard in a point and click/escape room. That made up a bit for the "where to put something" being not very challenging. The previous games had a bit of this as well but I felt it was a more significant element of The Room 4. I also liked how the rooms could affect each other. It was often necessary to do something in one room in order to activate/access something in another. The Room 4 also makes its story more front and center than the first three games in the series. It definitely has an identity distinct from the rest of the series because of that. It keeps the same theme of the Null while introducing new characters whose journey you piece together as you go. It feels like an advancement or evolution of both the lore and gameplay of the previous games. I enjoyed this game and I recommend it if you liked the other games in the series. It's similar in tone and gameplay, with some tweaks. If you found the earlier games too easy though, this one will feel the same. For me, I enjoyed it but wished it was a little more challenging!

I really enjoyed all 4 games in "The Room" series. I hope one day we get more! I recommend everybody to grab the 4 game bundle. I'd love more games with a touch more story. Main feedback is hints could appear a little faster, they are optional to use, so there's not much harm to that. Thank you for 4 brilliant games, I'm a little sad that my Room adventure is over. All 4 games felt unique as well, they didn't feel samey. Thanks again!

Absolute peak installment into the series managed to keep the eerie and lovecraftian atmosphere while still keeping the game interesting for a fourth installment. The developers managed to keep the core gameplay the same while still innovating upon the puzzles and layout. Incredibly good and cannot wait for more.

Great puzzle game, if you liked the previous entries you will like this one. The game looks great, but I think there is an issue somewhere as it constantly maxes out my GPU while not really looking like it makes use of those resources. Puzzles were always straightforward, and there was only one instance where the controls didn't quite do what I wanted them to. The setpieces are beautiful as always, but I personally preffered those from the earlier entries, they felt more realistic and more cohesive.

A very fun and thrilling puzzle game. I've played one of them before this and it too was a lot of fun. If you're stuck the hints are actually good but without giving too much away, until you absolutely need it. The Room 4 also has a really neat story that you follow as you solve the puzzles.

Probably my favorite entry in the Room series. Loved the interwoven rooms, where you have to skip around and find different parts to solve puzzles elsewhere. A fun experience and I think the puzzles where more laid out and thought-through. Quite a quick game, but a really fun experience.

These games are heavily underrated. Speaking as someone who dosen't always like clicker games, this is spectacular. Everything is beautiful, from the graphics to the storyline. i sincerely hope fireproof continues this legacy of amazing escaperoom games. These games have me glued to the screen until i complete them.

This was my favorite of the series! The puzzles followed each other more logically so that I wasn't spending a lot of time trying to figure out where new pieces were supposed to go. (Ignore the time spent playing btw lol. I often leave my PC and games open overnight.) Highly recommend this game and the others in the series! This one had the best formatting and puzzles, though, imo.

Big Finalle! Which seriosuly tested my nerves. For this one i needed a good friend to watch me play because my nerves couldnt handle the suspense and creepy atmosphere quite alone. It gave me chills and awws at the same time. The switch to a more personal aspect of the story was really well implemented. I loved every second and wish i could find a game that is able to catch me as much again as this one has. Unbeatable for the price! Imo a must have for puzzle and escape room lovers

The room 1 is one great box of fun. The room 2 is several boxes to exploration. The room 3 is several rooms to solve. All along there is a variety of tricky puzzles and hard-to-spot things. GREAT GAMES! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (GO PLAY, then stop) The room 4 falls flat, as it tries to be all the previous things, while there is very few hard-to-spot things, puzzles that you just have to tinker with for a minute to figure it out (without much thinking) and at no point did I hold any item for more than 5 seconds before I knew where it was supposed to go. Some items almost tell you where they go: As I tinker with a "piece of metal", but solving it changes the name to "metal roof"... If there were no names, I might have spent at least 5 more seconds to try to relate this item to where it goes, but that would expect something of me I guess... Overall, the room 4 is a pure clicker adventure that looks like a puzzle, without any friction for thinking, 4 times easier than all the previous games that should complete first. I will finish the game when I feel like mindlessly clicking around...
