Bad North: Jotunn Edition

This game is stupenous. It's fun, engaging, simple, cute, and one of my new favorite games of all time. The only, ONLY gripe I have with this game is the fact that you can permanently softlock yourself out of ever being able to play the game unless you uninstall it by switching the mouse control to touch screen, of which my personal computer doesn't have. I would really like to keep playing this, but I can't because I don't have touchscreen. Other than that, though, the game is amazing. I could play this for hours. I already have played it for hours. Edit: not even uninstalling fixes the problem.

We still love and support this game. Earnestly hope that you will open the Workshop and look forward to your continued development of its DLC.

Very enjoyable game, and has it's charm. With a bit of tinkering, you can even create your own "sandbox" kind of game. The art is absolutely incredible for it's genre and it's a very smooth game and beginner friendly. 11/10

could have been a mobile game but sure its fun, unjustified 15 bucks game, but for 2 bucks now worth it

Essentially a simple puzzle game where you throw the right unit at the right enemy at the right time, has some swift actiony parts that feel great but kinda gets boring after a while. Jotunn Features are very nice and they were out when I bought this game so it's kind've hard to imagine how bare bones it was PRIOR to said update. Wait for a sale then pick it up for a fun evening.

Really hits to spot of simultaneously cute and bloody, but also like really satisfying. Specifically pikes, I could watch them defend against the basic enemies forever. I really like the difficulty curve that happens as new enemies show up and makeyou rethink your strategies. Overall amazing

I love the game, one the first ones I bought on steam after watching YouTubers playing it long long ago. Definitely recommend, just wish they came out with more content though. Maybe that’s too much to ask for a 7 year old game though.

It's a fun little game with good thought behind it, albeit its a rogue like with what seems like endless islands. There's no clear progression or "end". Your upgrades come solely from gold, NOT from killing enemies through the campaign and in the long run, which I am not a big fan of since I'm not into rogue games. I just dont think it's "good enough" as a rogue to dethrone.... I don't know, FTL? ITB? BoI? RoR? EtG? all those games I feel do a better job as a small rogue lites. If anything I think this game being one hurt my opinion of it.

Bad North: Jotunn Edition is a beautiful blend of minimalism and brutality. The art style is stunning, the viking theme hits perfectly, and every decision feels tense and meaningful. Short, sharp, and totally engrossing.

I honestly just love this game, it is always satisfying to clear islands with one or two units and I can always see myself coming back to play a run every so often. 10/10

Bad North is a combination of three main aspects, gameplay/strategy, atmosphere, and upgrading. Bad North's strategy is simple and works great. The strategy in the game isn't really amazing or particularly intriguing, but it does a good enough job at entertaining the player for their first playthrough, and alongside other aspects it works well. The atmosphere and sound affects in this game are wonderful. They really make the world come to life and add tons of suspense, its really what sells the game to me. I also really like the upgrading system this game. Although the upgrading system is what you would expect in a game like this it has fun components like the chance to get special upgrades from certain islands and abilities for the different troop types. Personally this specific upgrade system implemented in Bad North is one of my favourites. In all, Bad North creates a wonderful game from the concept of Vikings invading islands with its well thought out gameplay, atmospheric and moody feel, and freeing upgrading system. 7.9/10 (in my opinion).

Fun roguelite that has more complexity than you might think at first. You can just place your units and let them do their thing if you match enemy weaknesses with your correct counter units at first, but you will have to use more advanced tactics on higher levels as you can get quickly overwhelmed if you make a tactical mistake. Easy recommend during the 80% summer sale.

Great single player game I love all the strategy and its a good challenge.

Great pick up / drop off style game as it's a series of mini-combats across a campaign. It's simplistically fun, yet challenging puzzle. Would definitely recommend

It's a pretty interesting game. I don't even what genre it would fit into (some mix of roguelite tower defense rts? (there are no towers tho).

I LOVE this viking indie game, for me it checks all the boxes for a defense game, upgrades, strategy and different ways to challenge yourself. if you like medieval/ viking games you WILL love bad north.

I don't get the reviews. Overly simplistic. Little control over your forces. Graphics are so "cute" that it's hard to even tell which troops are which. Makes it hard to action any real tactics when you can't tell how damaged troops are or even if they are wielding swords or bows.

fucking bull shit. They never completed the game.

The game is fun but the troops are absolute idiots. they stand by while people burn down my houses.. they are standing right next to them not trying to kill them. some maps are impossible to clear on hard. I hope they balance the game and fix the troops.

The bird men continue their relentless assault against my pitiful blue body. They close in, like a storm cloud on the shores of a lost island. I hear them, chirping their horns just out of the view of my measly eyes. Hiding in the fog, shrouded with mystery. I may never see the end of these endless bird men hordes, and yet I still hope.

You can kill your enemies (black vikings with white helmets). My home was destroyed by strom, so I started invade my neighbours. 10/10

About as chill as defending versus vikings could be. Very Entertaining!
