Bad North: Jotunn Edition

One of the unique roguelite games I have put my hands on. Game has nice minimalistic art style that in its own gives relaxing vibe. Gameplay is simple even IGN moderator could play it.

A straightforward and simple, yet challenging, mission-based strategy game. When in doubt, spears on a slope. The spearsier and slopier it is, the better.

great game worth your money but the DLC is just a cool hat. I'm dead serious

The aesthetics are deceptively cute, disguising a difficult game with a bit of a learning curve. The achievements are pretty easy for the most part, except for winning on hard and keeping all commanders alive. It feels so good to lock in and beat back the horde. I'm not sure how challenging this would be if I were a seasoned RTS player, but for a more casual fan of the genre it's a great one to dip your toe in to see if you enjoy the genre.

I LOVE this viking indie game, for me it checks all the boxes for a defense game, upgrades, strategy and different ways to challenge yourself. if you like medieval/ viking games you WILL love bad north.

It’s easy to pick up, but don’t let the soft art style fool you, strategy matters. Positioning, timing, and smart upgrades will determine whether your warriors stand tall or get swept into the sea. The difficulty ramps at a comfortable pace, allowing your units to grow and your own tactical instincts to sharpen. Personally, I found myself weirdly attached to my little squads. I wasn't just trying to win, I was trying to protect them. Every retreat, every last stand felt personal, and it made victories all the sweeter. Overall, a great pick for players who enjoy tight tactical gameplay with a beautiful, clean presentation.

Using basic units to fight off the enemies is great. I like how smooth it is. So smooth!

This game is really funny, nice art, nice gameplay. In my opinion the level are not so well balanced bc some feel really easy, other need many many tries. all in all a good thing for some hours but not for weeks. The utensils would need more explanation. For example the Gabana is a riddle to me and how to use it

Challenging, minimalistic, medieval tactics game. Have played a lot more on a different platform.

Archers for everything. Shield guys for archers and throwers. Spearman for everything but chargers and archers. Archers not on high ground but on shore. Go Normandy. Shield guys for block, only attack to archers. Spearman are you workhorse. 1 archer unit with Ring of Command + Heavy Weapon 1 shield guy with Philosophers Stone + Fleet of Foot 1 Spearman with Jinada + Sure footed 4th unit optional. Jinada is best item, you can farm one more island at the first 5 to 7 islands. 1 Spearman can solo no thrower no archer maps. Losing one gold houses are ok. Hold your islands, enjoy.

Very good game just very repetitive and takes about 10 minutes for this game to load. Nvidia gtx 1060 6gb vram 32gb ram Intel xeon E3 v5 3.50 ghz running speed

Simple, engaging well balanced hack and slash military fun.

I don't like the brutal + real time combination, premise is fun but a moment of confusion/misclick results in perma-death of your heroes (there is a reason why roguelikes started as turn based games...). especially when you don't know the skills in the first playthrough, feels like getting punished for the sake of it.
