I like fish. Can't take care of fish in real. Get this fish game. Have fish and fish accessories. No responsibilities of owning real fish. Success (fish).

This game is so fun, and very chill! the only thing is at first it is hard to get good fish. But if you keep playing you will evolve and get better overtime.

As someone who had tons of fish in my childhood (and lost them, sadly), this totally beats having to deal with the loss and cleaning an actual aquarium. In all seriousness, it is a chill little "game" fittingly named Chillquarium, and honestly, that is some pretty accurate advertising, which is rare these days. If you are looking for a relaxing idle game to have running in the background while you do other things or just want something peaceful, give this one a try. It helped me chill a lot back when I was dealing with RAM issues on my PC, and it still holds up as a cozy little escape.

A fun and simple idle game. Somewhere between a game and a screensaver, and great for when you're not particularly busy but don't want to get sucked into anything either. Here are a couple of sort of "wishlist" items for the dev since I know a new game is in the works: - Auto feeder of some kind. I know you can turn on the in-game auto clicker and find a corner to shove your fish into, but this kills the screensaver-like aspect of the game. I would love to have something that essentially does this for me while keeping the fish free-floating. Perhaps a late game upgrade in the range of 100Q? I wouldn't mind if it was single tank, lower food per second and couldn't be used alongside regular clicks either. -Auto opener or something. When I'm farming for that last painted fish swiping through pack upon pack of fish I already have is kinda silly. Couldn't there be a button to skip the part where you sorta "collect" all the fish? Maybe once you already have the base version of them all? Again it could be implemented as an upgrade! -Toggle lights by aquarium. I like having rainbow lights on for some but not others, for instance. All in all I hope this doesn't come off as a complaint because I actually really like this game. So much so that I have a bulleted list of small additions I would like. It's a cheap, fun game and if it seems up your alley it probably is!

Chillquarium, developed by Thomas Bowker, is a minimalist, idle aquarium simulator that delivers exactly what its name promises: a peaceful, low-stakes, and aesthetically pleasing experience that emphasizes relaxation over challenge. On the surface, the game seems deceptively simple—players buy fish, watch them swim around a small tank, and sell them when they mature for profit. Yet beneath this tranquil loop lies a surprisingly satisfying progression system, soft strategy elements, and an almost meditative rhythm that makes it a quiet standout in the idle and cozy gaming niches. It's not a game that demands attention, but rather one that gently invites you to keep it running in the background while you work, read, or unwind. The core gameplay loop in Chillquarium revolves around purchasing fish eggs, hatching them into colorful aquatic creatures, and waiting as they slowly grow to maturity. Once grown, they can be sold for coins, which are then reinvested into rarer eggs, better fish, or aesthetic upgrades for your tank. The growth rates and sell values vary by species, introducing light strategic decisions about which fish to keep and which to prioritize for sale. Some fish are common and quick to grow, while others are rare, slow, and worth much more, adding a layer of progression that feels rewarding without being intrusive or time-consuming. Visually, the game leans into a clean, crisp art style with a pastel palette that reinforces its soothing atmosphere. Fish are stylized and colorful, with simple but charming animations that give each species its own personality. The tank backgrounds and decorations are minimal, but effective enough to create a sense of space and customization. There's no clutter or unnecessary detail—every element serves the core experience of calm observation. The user interface is also straightforward and easy to navigate, which is critical for a game designed to be left running idly or with minimal interaction. Where Chillquarium truly excels is in its ambient sound design and soundtrack. Gentle water noises, soft bubbling effects, and a lo-fi musical score create a genuinely relaxing soundscape. It’s the kind of game you can run on a second monitor or leave on in the background just for the audio. The entire experience feels carefully curated to reduce stress, making it an ideal digital companion for winding down at the end of the day or setting a mellow tone while working. As players progress, new tanks and rare fish become available, creating a slow but steady sense of discovery. There’s a light “gacha” aspect to hatching rare fish from eggs, but it’s handled without the exploitative mechanics typically found in mobile idle games. There are no microtransactions or predatory monetization systems. Everything is earned through in-game currency and time, which reinforces the laid-back pacing. Even when nothing seems to be happening, Chillquarium maintains a pleasing sense of progression—the kind of passive advancement that makes checking in every few hours feel rewarding. That said, the game is deliberately narrow in scope. Players looking for deep gameplay systems, heavy customization, or high interactivity may find Chillquarium too simplistic. Its idle nature means long periods of inactivity, and outside of unlocking new fish and occasionally upgrading your tank, there’s little else in terms of mechanics or narrative. This isn’t a game with dramatic spikes or major goals—it’s more of a peaceful aquarium screensaver with some light progression tacked on. For what it sets out to be, it’s nearly flawless, but that comes with a recognition that it's not meant for everyone. In conclusion, Chillquarium is a beautifully minimalist, thoughtfully designed idle game that succeeds as a digital comfort space. It’s not a title that demands long play sessions or complex management—rather, it provides a calm, rewarding background presence for those who enjoy passive progression and cozy aesthetics. Its meditative tone, pleasant visuals, and gentle audio combine into a relaxing aquarium simulator that prioritizes mood over mechanics. For players seeking a serene, stress-free experience that embraces slow living in a digital format, Chillquarium is an ideal, peaceful escape. Rating: 9/10

Very enjoyable idler, lives up to the promised chill. I love, love, love that my fishies continue to grow even when the game is closed. As a generally impatient person, this feature makes me feel less anxious about unlocking all of the fish and making constant progress while the game is open. It's really fun to obtain a new fish, see how much it earns, what the color variant looks like, etc. I've only unlocked the first two groups of freshwater fish so far but I've had quite a few surprises! Looking forward to starting my first saltwater tank in the next day or so. :D The music track is really good, too. Sometimes I leave the game running just so I can listen to it. :)

It's fun to play and have open idly when I'm doing something else. Progress is slow but not too slow, and it's fairly evenly balanced.

This was a fun little idler. My only issue with it is after 77 hours I've 100%'d the steam achievements and no longer feel compelled to play. A 6 dollars game that takes 80 hours to complete isn't bad at all, but I do wish there was more.

Having used 54 hours and some automation techniques to rush through 100% achievement isn't exactly a chilling experience. But this is an appealing, simple collectathon idle game that I would recommend.

like it, as the name suggests, it's a chill game about fishes in an aquarium. tho it would benefit from more QoL options, especially at the "endgame" where you basically just keep opening packs in hope of getting rare and unique fish, the process drags quite a bite when it's not just a 5 min daily check

fun mindless game. scratches the pack opening itch pretty well. I have a few suggestions for improvement that aren't super important but I think would be nice: - Being able to scroll through the newly opened pack - "Open All" button - different tank backgrounds,

Nice concept but the idler or clicker is waaaayy too grindy and the desktop animal thing gets old quick because there isn't enough customization. Has potential if they would have put more features in but as it is you just progress too slowly right from the beginning.

After 60 hours of obsessing over completing the game, I finally had a dream about collecting actual fishes and in my dream the water in our bucket was too blue (which I suspected was dyed) so I had to move them into cleaner water. I was too scared to touch them, panicked and accidentally squished one and could see its insides. I'll be allowing the game to run in real-time and checking in once a week now. I'm free!!

as an avid fish keeper , im loving the attention to detail on the fishes and all the species names! I do wish there were more species of fish and hopefully that comes with the content updates (time of writing pelagic ones just dropped). Love the music, would be nice to have a few tracks to choose from. Progression is okay, but can be slow, the numbers are daunting on some of the upgrades but once you unlock them, u can rapidly populate your tank. Wish we could put more decorations to our tanks and for more decos as well, but im really enjoying everything im getting for whatever im paying for the game. Also, we need the ubiquitous Yellow Tang! Loving it, it appeals to the gamer and the fish man in me. Thanks for making this.

It's something simple to play when I have my headphones on listening to music. I can't listen to music and play hard games at the same time. It makes it hard to concentrate on the game. But this requires very little concentration. Very easy to play.

This is a really nice and simple idle game perfect for someone looking to get that steam achievement fix in a more passive way. I took a lot of breaks from this game since I first got it but since I have now finished it (excluding collecting all the rainbow fish which I won't even attempt to do) I'm happy to say I had a good time. The only issues I had was I encountered a game breaking bug and I did contact the dev about it but unfortunately I did end up losing a bit of progress because of it. There was also an update to the game right before I was close to finishing it which changed the way the numbers for money was displayed which kind of threw me off a lot because I was used to seeing the whole number instead of the abbreviated number. I'm not as numbers person and don't really know how to read abbreviated numbers but luckily I was almost finished anyways so I just stopped playing the game actively and was able to finish it after a few weeks.

This is a relaxing idler aquarium game. All you need to do is gather fish together, feed them, Alt + Tab and do your stuff. Once you finish your work, come back to sell your fish for more money for more expensive fish packs. The gameplay is repetitive, but it's a perfect game while multitasking on your PC or laptop, especially during work time XD.

Great little game to unwind to at the end of the day, or to boot up first thing. It's very zen; has a mindful quality to it that scratches an itch! I like all the little fish models too, they're all so cute! The music can tend to be annoying, I wish there was more variety there, but typically I just listen to my own music while I have this running. All in all I highly recommend this game!

A really fun game to have on in the background while you work on other things. However I will say the rates of the Mythic's are VERY low, so the changes to how you get the Gold Packs, and thus getting final achievements can be very grindy. In my last 10 hours I was just opening the game every few days in hopes I get the fish I needed. Overall I think it's very cute, and unique fish, but if you're hoping for an easy Perfect it's time consuming, but good luck! Spent a lot of time grinding the Golden fish before the Gold packs were released. Honestly a really fun game and a lot of interesting variations. Excited for Wing Haven when it comes out as i'll certainly be looking to perfect that game too.

its like too chill you can't do anything and it plays in real days time. fish become adults and then theyre just meant to get sold or stared at and there's not really gameplay. i cant even interact with my fish except feed them. wish there was a sandbox mode to make my own custom fish tanks and meet the other fish.

It starts fun but just turns boring and repetitive. The luck system could really do with some qol improvements so you're not in a slow constant cycle of buying fish and then selling them because it's not what you need.

Unfortunately, I can not recommend this game - Understand, I love everything conceptually, the execution of that is sub-par. The start of each pack is fun, you open it up and see the cool fish. That's when you get to the problem. This game is attempting to be real-time; You are given a feeder which give decimal percentages of progress to the growth of your fish, you can upgrade it, which I will discuss further. But the upgrades are minimal, adding 5 per upgrade. NOW the problem, the big one - the progression is a rollercoaster, and not a good one, the first pack of fish costs 10, the second costs 1000, the third 200.000, the next 50.000.000 then 15.000.000.000. This is an absolute failure to respect the player. This applies to EVERYTHING in the shoppe. The afformentioned barely useful food pellets are only 3 upgrades before it costs 2.000.000.000 - and the cost is just as useless as the previous ones, it does not even gain enough to stay caught up with the extreme exp requirements for the new fish in each pack. Lastly this game is just gambling - you are required after every pack to release 4 fish into the tank, whether you want it or not, before you can sell it. This becomes a pain when you are opening 25 packs (the maximum number) just looking for one fish or variant. This game is not chill, it's disrespectful.
