i have played for many years mods have never done any real work in the game when you go the discord they tell you more then one person needs to report the person for them to do anything and they can only be punished once and then all reports closed when you go to discord and ask them to check your report they time you out for a week and tell you to move on the game counts and player counts are also edited the only dev seems to be 19 idk what happened to the game but its def not worth anything

It's a fun game, especially when you want to play something without too much effort. Used to be decent, new devs took over, reworked a few roles and some wording because apparently it's too offensive (in a game about killing people?) However, extremely toxic community, in and out of the game. In the pre-game lobby, there is no report function (for whatever reason), people use all sorts of language and degradation and get away with it. The game is also absolutely full with game throwers, and people that make new accounts for the sole reason of ruining the game. Plenty of people who play together in voice chat, which is painfully obvious when you're pushed for no reason at all. The game is fun, but I absolutely wouldn't recommend it to anyone until they do a serious overhaul of their moderation system, because it truly does nothing.

from what I understand the same was sold and now the new owners have decided that the roles "consort" and "escort" are too racey for a game about killing people and needed to be renamed to things that don't even fit their action. Only causes confusion for players used to the names that had been used for years, but any negative feedback gets silenced. Don't support these new devs.

You can get banned for nothing if you accidentally play with a moderator and win And once you are unjustly banned you can never play on steam again you will have to play on a web browser Don't buy the game, they will steal from you no matter what I went through the excruciating annoyance of appealing and they said "lol go **** yourself"

Gets boring really fast due to gamethrowers and people who are just there to ruin it for everyone else.

Town of Salem is the best "mafia-like" social deduction game probably ever. Well then why do I highly dislike this game? Haha simple answer our "great" administration. Only here mods wont care that you ruin matches/troll or spam join/quit so others cant start match BUT they will ban you for gamethrowing if you soft claim evil role on the first day (which almost always doesnt mean anything) and then will normally. Here devs cant fix ranked matches TO AT LEAST SHOW HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE SEARCHING FOR RANKED GAME. Awful discord mods with overdone ego (yeah it was not a good expirience to talk with you miss). Silencing community when we are giving our opinion and ofc complete lack of any game support and updates/balance changes which we really need. Is this a good game? Yes, yes and 500 more times yes this is awesome game. Is community good? Well no, no and 500 more times no. Sadge

I absolutely can't recommend this game anymore. I've been playing Town of Salem since 2022, and it's honestly sad how far it has fallen. It used to be a great social deduction game, but now it's full of trolls, gamethrowers, and people who ruin matches on purpose. The report system is a joke, and the devs and mods clearly don’t care anymore. Queue times are long, and if you're not playing during the right timezone, good luck finding a proper game. Even when you do get in, there's a high chance someone will quit early, throw on purpose, or just talk nonsense. After putting in 27 hours, I can confidently say this game has gone from something great to absolute trash. Save yourself the time and disappointment don’t play this.

TOS is bad. Between the really messed up things people say and do . Rampant cheating and constant bad attitudes this game is impossible to have fun with. If you lose control and get angry and act out you could be banned LONG before someone says something BLATANTLY horrible like the guy who constantly makes a new account and says "Rword Nwords" and SOOO much more. Avoid it. TRUST ME! Keep your sanity, don't go as low as they do. There are other games, BETTER games than this. Let this trash stay in the dumpster where it belongs and SAVE your money.

If you enter a lobby with someone named 'hambone' or 'lyonmetalthree,' just report them and leave. these two scumbags actively are single-handedly making the game worse. Blankmedia are masters of self-sabotage and this game DESERVES to die with how much they've mismanaged it.

good party game with friends. good depth of the roles. love this game and tos2 is just as good if not better

Game is dead, you will play the same people again and again. There is at best 25 players at any given time and that is being honest. For a game that requires 15 players for a game ya that sucks also another thing you can only play one gamemode. Don't kid yourself into playing other gamemodes no one else will join you got one gamemode you can play.

Love this game but recently theres nothing but racist trolls. Mods need to step up for this game to be enjoyable again.

used to be great, but feels like its abandoned. Really hard to get into games unless you already have a party. Someone needs to start marketing this game again.

It's a fun game to play if you know what you're doing. It takes time to get used to the different roles, but it's definitely fun once you learn everything. A big issue that I have regarding this game is the gamethrowers and some toxic chatting. Despite that, I recommend the game.

Fun game. Lots of bots lately which takes away from the enjoyment, TOS developers need to work on better moderation.

I love the classic mode, where you can deduct who the evils are. A fun game to play against friends, even if it takes a bit to understand the game.

This game has been a blast since I've got my hands on it, fun and consistent entertainment.

told my execution target i was their guardian angel. We whispered everyday until they were accused, then when they claimed their role i said they had been telling a lie the whole time. They cried and cursed my name as town lynched them. i feel like shit but that's salem, play creatively!
