It has GGPO. One dude did what thousands of stubborn japanese game developers refuse to do, and implemented good netcode to a fighting game. Put this on EVO

Rollback netcode? Check!!! Roster with diverse playstyle? Check!!! Lobby support??? Check!!! No rootkit??? Check!!! This indie company managed to not only give fans what they wanted, but they also gave us something we didn't expect, and equally appreciated (Capcom please take notes). Kudos to this team!!! I can't wait to see more characters/colors/costumes, etc. Let's see this game hit the main stage at every major event!!! #FightOfAnimals #FoA

There are a few controller compatibility issues, which shouldn't be that much of a problem since playing on keyboard is also really intuitive. It's also pretty baffling that we were able to play a 5€ game with friends for a few hours online with next to no netcode issues while some people feel no shame charging 60€ for games that won't let you play confortably with someone in your own country. TL;DR play that damm game Now buff Mighty Fox please.

Came into this game expecting it to be a fun little joke to play for about 30 minutes. I've now learned a few combos for Mighty Fox and had genuinely more fun than I had with Street Fighter V or Mortal Kombat 11

Rollback Netcode + Kuso idea = fighting game of the year The idea of combos is easy to learn. Each character's has their own specific play concept Therefore I had a lot of fun in this game. Plus, the end of trailer shows the new character will show up in the future Looking forward in this game 面白さは他のコメントはすでに言われていますが とりあえず新キャラを待っています give me a thumb if you think this comment is helpful, thanks

For rollback netcode alone, this game deserves a chance. But the fact that it also plays well, is not overcomplicated for new fighting game players, AND has meme animals? This game was an instant purchase for me. Fight of Animals at Combo Breaker when?

This game has GGPO rollback. So, what this means is, in a game where you play as animal characters based off of meme images you'll have an infinitely better online experience than you would if you were to play Street fighter 5. This game also has nearly all of the most universally beloved fighting game mechanics such as, dash cancels, 1 frame links and more, again making it more complex than most modern day fighters which is hilarious and absurd. Fight of Animals is Based af. Get it on sale or you're a puthie.

its a pretty basic 2d fighter, its like mixing a basic 2d fighter with smash bros. I would recommend this game to anyone who plays 2d fighters.

A staple of the fighting game genre, an all time classic. This game has genuinely surprised me with its depth and combo capabilities, and each character being vastly different from the rest. Had alot of fun playing with friends, definitely worth the ten bucks

This game is very fun because of the mechanics and is very fun with friends. This game is PEAK FICTION though, I need an anime or movie with my boy Muscle beluga kicking ass and the rest of the cast fighting. Should be at every EVO. 100/10

From the creators of Fight of Gods comes a fighter based on meme pictures. For those unaware, these are the animal meme images. https://twitter.com/weida_hexy/status/1207530200725999616?s=20 The game has simple controls with only directional inputs. You have your Light, Medium, Special, and Super. Light is a simple jab with all of them being a low while crouching. Medium can be combo'd into with a crouching medium being a sweep/launcher. Special is an overhead while you're neutral and can be combo'd after. Directional inputs for special will give you different attacks you can dash cancel or follow-up. The latter properties are on a move to move basis. The Super button will do a super or burst if you're in hit/block stun. There are single player modes like Arcade, but the Online is where it's at. This game utilizes rollback netcode and it is amazing. I am able to play from games from Florida to Finland without a problem. It's a no-brainer for the price if you want to have some dumb fun. Yes, I am recommending this solely based on the netcode because you can actually play it with all your friends.

Fight of Animals is a fun, lighthearted fighter, with a nice rock/paper/scissors take on the genre. 6 characters, 3 stages, arcade mode, training mode and an online pvp mode. The character designs are nicely done and have a unique "cell shaded" look to them. The combos are fun to pull off and at a closer look, this isnt just a simple fighter. The game's mechanics lets the player customize their playstyle so eveyone isnt doing the same cookie cutter combos. I really enjoy the soundtrack and it give the game a personality like no other. Any fan of fighters will love this game

A $6 game with borderline flawless netcode, a great community that just wants to have fun, and a dev that is honest as heck with what the game is. Hop on Discord, learn some tech, share some tech, and discover what a good game is. Also get ready to catch these Beluga hands.

I had a blast just playing this with a non-specific European friend of mind that fakes an American accent and even though we had some teleporting lag we were still having laughs on what we were experiencing. Also, this game was only $5 and we could actually play online compared to Tekken 7 that's $40 and online wouldn't work at all. #BuffCrowrilla

Cheap, humorous, free characters, better netcode than most AAA fighters, easy combo system. Only issues I can think of are lack of depth in the meta (tough balance since this seems more like a party game than serious) and small player base.

The game's fun but when playing with 2 controllers in versus mode the game has bad issues. It will only listen to input from one controller (even though it can see both as we can both press A on the opening screens). When playing with 2 controllers the game will feel very stiff. We haven't tried single player mode but versus mode was not enjoyable due to these issues.

To be honest I had a few minutes of enjoyment and then I got bored, it just (for some reason) doesn't feel right to me, like when I play other games like Dragon Ball Fighter Z or Tekken 7 it feels nice and polished but in this case it just doesn't feel right to me, I also don't really like how the characters move it just doesn't feel right for some reason. Maybe you have a different opinion but to me it doesn't feel right. 2.9/5

This is enjoyable for a lot of reasons: its style is fresh and fun, and while its controls are simple (which may be great for some) it does have fairly deep and innovative system for combos and mix-up options that sets it apart. Positives: Enjoyable art style with likable characters and a limited but catchy soundtrack. Easy to pick up and play with some deeper to ease into. Notably, Digital Crafter introduces a strong left-right mixup mechanic in place of throws, which I've never seen before. While I like throws in fighting games, I have to admit this is an interesting alternative that's interesting to learn and probably more entertaining to watch if you're seeing the game on a stream. While the game otherwise behaves largely like a classical fighter, anime fighter fans might enjoy the dash cancel combos. Decent roster of 12 diverse characters, each with their own appeal. Variety of free costume options in addition to optional DLC. Negatives: Although in general the combo timing seems very generous, I find consistent execution to be finicky at times, probably due to the wide variety of character hurtboxes. Also, many attacks have dramatically larger or smaller hitboxes than you'd expect from their appearance. This can lead to frustration for experienced players coming in from other games. At the highest single-player difficulty, some opponent AI will knowledge check you constantly and hold you in combos long enough to let you to consider how on earth you just lost neutral. Surprisingly limited number of playable stages. Neutral/Observations: The game does have a respectable execution ceiling for combos. While the basic rules for chains are easy to understand, optimal execution that works when you want it will definitely take more than a few hours to master. If you're aiming to master the game, be sure that it's worth it by having your friends play, or by joining a related Discord. Tutorials and training mode have all the essential features you'd expect of a modern fighter. Very minor: be advised that for some reason, changing your controls changes what your buttons do in the menus. When in doubt, your mouse also works in most places. I have yet to play this game online, but by all accounts the online play is a good experience. My experience so far with single-player tells me this is worth playing with friends, and it would be a good way to get some of your non-FGC pals into fighting games.

Jank as hell, but that only adds to the charm. Could do with some enhancements, maybe some air specials or a throw, but as-is it's a fun fighter and I hope the devs keep at making these weird fight games.

I really like this game, I may not have played it as much as I would liked to, but it is definitively one that I like to keep in my library to just open once in a while, it's just one of those games that are always a lot of fun, it is simple, yet fast paced, and has all the action one would expect from a Fighting Game in one little package. And also... It has Bad Dog and Tricky Fox, which unironically are the best evil versions of regular characters I've ever seen in a fighting game, so there's that.

It's a fun game, and very much like Fight of Gods (even some of the assets have been clearly copied over), but Iwas disappointed to find that the arcade mode doesn't feature a 'boss' character like the other game and as such was a disappointing ending. It would be nice to see this added in the future, as well as potentially adding the penguin referee as a playable character. 7/10

This game is, no joke, some of the best FG experience I've had this year (2019). It's easy to get into while still requiring thought and finesse, despite all specials and supers being literally one button commands with no motion - stagger pressure, resets, combos with delays, links, cancels, meter management (choosing between offensive/defensive use and choosing to keep it for next round or spend it now!), a variety of uses for special moves and other techniques such as hopping over fireballs, frametrapping, setting up juggle combos, antiairing, meterless damage enders... The combo system is just simply fun. All specials are dash cancellable on hit. Have fun, Kurogane players. Finding new ways to squeeze a bit more damage or even a sick crossup reset midcombo is super fun and satisfying, all while remaining pretty straightforward and acceasible, in the good way, not the dumbed-down one. And most importantly, the reasonna lot of people have found this game: Netcode. It simply works. It puts full-price, AAA releases to shame. I've had no issues playing at all, bless rollback netcode. If a developer with no budget to add throws to their game (actual response of the developer to the lack of throws) can make their online run smooth, there is no excuse. It simply feels good even if you're not that tech savvy/sensitive to frame delays. It feels amazing. If you haven't tried a game with good rollback, you have to try this game and see why it's so gloriously smooth for yourself. 10/10, best bang for the nonexistent budget this game has, and an absolute blast online Also with arcade mode!

TL;DR: It’s a janky-fun game that doesn’t take itself too seriously. Simple and easy controls, favorite meme characters, and Rollback Netplay online. Definitely recommend for those who wants a game to get into and beat up your friends. If you enjoyed “Fight of Gods” then you would definitely enjoy this game. As a “gameplay over graphics” type of guy, I had given both of these games a fair chance, and what is else is there to say? Both this and FoG are simple games with a good amount of depth in them if you take the time to learn how these games work. Fight of Animals is a unique type of game. Uses popular animal memes as actual fighters is an original and smart idea. It’s so crazy that it works pretty well. There are lots of animal memes on the internet, so adding more later on is awesome. But let’s get into the presentation. As I said, I’m more of a “gameplay over graphics” type of person. This game is definitely not the looker and as if it was a rushed project. If you’re all over about graphics, then right off the bat, this game is not for you, and I would recommend something like KOF XIII or Skullgirls. Animations are janky as well, so as you can see, it is not a very polished game. But the gameplay is where this game truly shines. The inputs are easy and fun to play around with. You can cancel Specials into Specials to extend combos, finish the combo off with a Super, the basic stuff. It’s not super in depth, but it is enough to have a good time online. The plus side is that this game uses Rollback Netplay to fight other players online, though, a bit of criticism I have when playing online is that Quick Matches gives lobbies, which is fine I guess, but I expected to like find a player instead of lobbies. Oh well. Overall, it’s a good game that shouldn’t be judged to hard on the presentation. And for cheap too? I say that and the amount of fun you’ll have on and offline is worth it. Looking forward to what new characters Digital Crafter will bring onto the table.

For Fun: 7/10 For Achieving: 9/10 I would recommend buying if you have some spare change and want a fun meme game or an easy completion game. The game itself is very similar to that of a lot of fighting games, but has its on furry flavor. Hit the foe enough times and they fall while trying not to get hit yourself. This game has a unique cast of different meme characters who all play differently and have interesting move sets distinct to them. The models and scenes are really good and the music is fantastic, but sadly that's where the pluses end. The game gets super repetitive and the A.I. is brutal especially if you don't know how to play a character. The online is dead as there was no one interested in fighting. There really isn't much else beside the same fights over and over again. As for the achievements they are all just mildly time consuming. None of them are hard as the difficulty of A.I. can be set on the easiest setting. The one that might cause some issue is the PPPPerfect!! achievement were you need to win against the A.I. without getting hit in Arcade mode. I got this one without trying just trying to get the other Arcade mode achievements. Over all I still had fun with this game and I hope they still update this game and add more characters.

Quite frankly, there is no need to create another fighting game now that Fight of Animals exists. Where could a developer go, that wouldn't be better than this? Everything else since has been tiresome, overplayed, overengineered fluff. Whenever I get the itch to play a fighting game, I don't load up something like MK11 or Tekken 7 with all of their extraneous bullshit. When you open those other trash fighting games, you'll first have a million corporate logos, then some bullshit about microtransactions or season passes with xp progression, and then as many barriers as possible to actually fucking playing the game. I open Fight of Animals and within literal seconds I am an eggdog mercilessly pummelling a beluga whale.

Fight of Animals is a fast-paced 2D fighting game, where all the characters have 20f overheads that convert into shittons of damage, where getting anti-aired means you'll eat shittons of damage, and getting low poked from a confirmable range leads to shittons of damage. That's why the game has a burst mechanic tied to a meter. Most specials are dash cancellable on hit, which leads to a lot of cool interactions. Offense is strong as shit but so is defense because most overheads are punishable by shittons of damage when you block them. A broken, janky-ass game, but that's part of the charm.

Ok, I'm actually baffled at how much video game there is in such a meme. Unironically would recommend to those who are looking to jump into the fighting game genre (more on that later) because of approachability AND price. As soon as you boot up the game, they show you the system mechanics via 9 pages. Not a perfect tutorial, but with how few mechanics there are to learn, you will get used to them rather fast after 5 minutes in training mode with any of the cast. As for the mechanics themselves, cannot recommend enough for starters because it's a mix between standard/traditional fighting game (think Street Fighter with grounded footsies and semi-tough combos via links) and some anime bullshit (bursting, dash canceling and long combos). What would make this better is for the training mode to have frame data. Also, no throws so get ready to cook up some nice mixups (or dirty ones). As for the netcode, it's GGPO. Just. Buy. It. If you value online play, I have no doubt that you can find matches years down the line because of the rollback netcode. Buy this game, buy a bunch more if you're already a fighting game fan that wants the genre to not have the difficult stigma and gift it to your friends (good Holidays release timings at the time of review) and enjoy the video game.
