This is a masterpiece. If you like solving puzzle, it is one of the best puzzle games i've ever played. The story telling, the music, the art style... Man the cutscenes are sooo good. I was like watching an anime movie. Solid 9/10.

Game is good, but it crashes a ton and is barely playable on Windows 11. I would not recommend buying this game unfortunately unless you have an older computer or until they fix the game's compatibility issues (if ever)

Catherine is a puzzle game and a social / romance game that I recommend if you think you are into that sort of thing and its on sale. The story social element involve drinking in a bar with your friends and the other patrons as you try to come to terms with cheating on your long term girlfriend and a strange bout of nightmares that you've been having that seem to be killing men in their sleep. I think those sections are ok. You can leave the bar anytime you want but staying and talking to the people allows for character building and helps you unravel the mysterious dream world event. Once you leave the bar you go to bed and thats were the meat of the gameplay starts. You must climb the tower by moving blocks and using items to escape. You have to be fast as the tower is collapsing from below. The puzzle gameplay works pretty well. There is no set solution for these puzzles as knocking one block out can completely change and collapse the blocks above. It has weird logic with floating blocks etc but it all kind of makes sense. I will say its annoying when you grab the ledge of a block from behind and the controls flip. I played on easy mode and still died numerous times so there is a bit of a challenge there. It can be a little addicting but overal I'd give this gameplay section a 6-7/10. It between climbs you are on a floating platform with the other sheep. This gives you the chance to save, have a breather and talk to the other sheep. I like these sections as you can start to make connections between the sheep and the patrons of the bar. Also you can discuss tactics and see how the different personalities cope with the nightmare and how they change / die as you get further and further up. Overal a neat little package. Took me about 13hrs to complete. 7/10.

Engaging puzzle game with social/romance story system from other Atlus titles mixed in, overall amazing experience. Would play again to see the Ronald McDonald Bartender Erica.

I'm a little bit sad because I am sooo bad and don't really like puzzle games and I don't want to put that much time doing the puzzles. The puzzles are not bad, it's just not really for me. But the story though, since I guess I won't really play the game because puzzles, I'm just watching the cutscenes on YouTube, and damn... The voice acting and the animations are incredible and the story so far is really interesting and captivating. I guess if you like puzzle games this is 100% a must play, if you only want to see the story, I'd say just watch it online, the puzzles don't really affect the story, at least I think.

This game is worth playing. It has many levels that test your quick judgment and patience to play again after each loss. On Hard mode, the second half of the game is extremely difficult, seemingly impossible to complete, but the reward at the end of the game is completely worth the effort you put in.

I've just finished the game. Immediately, I rushes here to leave a review of the game to capture the rawest emotions that I currently have. So lemme just start by saying this is the most unique, daring game I've played in the last decade and the most satisfying. The story is amazing and more than makes up for any shortcomings in the puzzle aspect of the game. Let's start with the story, I believe it is truly top-notch and acts as an interesting study on relationships. It will really hit home for most male players (like me) as you progress throughout the story. You can play arcade games, talk to the people who come in and out of the bar, chat with the bartender, use the restroom, drink different types of drinks and even text people on your cell phone. The way you get to know your friends and the other bar patrons is great. With each character having their own personality and their own take on the world gets you to come back to talk to them everyday. I also feel genuine worry when things happen to Vincent and I get driven to the next level, next scene, next stage, just to see what will happen. I feel it is awesome when a game does that and is definitely a bonus point for me in this game. Now the actual nightmares are where the majority of the gameplay happens and is, more or less, one big, giant, very frustrating puzzle. With every stage comes levels and with every level comes choices. The choices you pick should reflect who you are and sway the "karma system" from one side to the other. After these choices, you go to the next level, in which, your answer to the choices gets uploaded to the internet and you can see how others replied to those same choices. Once, you reach the final level, a "boss battle" occurs and you essentially have to reach the top of the puzzle building to win. Seems pretty easy eh? Haha... These puzzles become very, very brutal the higher you get up, and I immediately regret picking normal difficulty on my first playthrough. It is hard, relentless even and makes me feel like I'm genuinely stupid most of the time. As you progress the blocks fall faster, the puzzles get more complicated, and "trick" blocks will make things even harder (some blocks are covered in ice which you will slide right over, others have spikes that shoot out and kill you, some even explodes). These trick blocks need to be both avoided and used to your advantage, and the game does a fantastic job of providing puzzles which test the limits of your critical thinking, and I failed many times. There's a point in the game where I completely gave up after dying for over 25 times and I had to look up a guide on Youtube only to realize how "simple" the solution to the puzzle. With that said, this game is great. It is fun, exciting, and intriguing. It will bend your mind and boost your adrenaline. In my opinion all gamers should pick it up, regardless of genre preference. Catherine boasts a fantastic story, great pacing, top-notch voice acting, spectacular game play and solid replay value. This will be one of the few times where I confidently say I won't hesitate to come back in the future just to get a different ending! Or maybe I'll wait for the Full Body to get ported to PC, I know you can make that happen Atlus. P.S. I got the
"True Cheater" ending on my first playthrough and lemme just say I would conquer hell and heaven if I have a wife like Catherine by my side.
Horrifically bad PC port that for some reason, despite relying on steam input, cannot detect my Dualsense controller. Crashes all the time and the default keyboard controls are near unusable. Just emulate the PS3 version instead.

Oh yeah. A game I recommend. But not this way.. Specially if you love the Persona games. This is a nice change. Def play Easy if you are just here for the story which is juicy good I may add. Your name is Vincent and your gf Catherine and you are not doing so well. Katherine with a K i think. Anyway she begins to feel distant from you trying hard to get your attention. Meanwhile you are going to the bar walking around drinking chatting with people getting to know whats up (actual gameplay). Then comes to puzzle time. I'm recomend if you have a Switch get Catherine: Full Body. It has another character (probably love interest?). I never played it but more content is always better.

ohh i love you katherine. katherine. story was immaculate, i love the decisions and i kinda actually really dont like vincent sometimes, but depending on your route, hes just a troubled man who is trying as hard as he can. i really love john. i love john so much. the nights at stray sheep are always so comforting, especially after screaming at the damn blocks. but the blocks are pretty fun, too!! it takes some time to get used to all the methods, but after playing for a while and remembering certain tricks, it becomes really enjoyable... most of the time!!!! i love this game!

Masterpiece of a game. Love the story, music, character design, mechanics. Just as good as i remember. I just wish they would release Full Body on steam! Not sure why people are complaining, game ran flawlessly for me. Just like playing it on console.

The story is good, the gameplay (the tower climbing puzzle part) is monotonous, cringe and straight up sh*t. You can't change the difficulty on specific stages, regardless of the tutorial stating otherwise. In the bossfights, the boss climbs ridiculously fast, even on "Normal" mode, and even if you Undo your moves, the boss stays on the very same height it was right before pressing the button (probably lack of optimalization in the gameplay) so you either spam Tab in hopes that you gain a few seconds by redoing several steps a bit faster or you restart the level (or you go back the title screen tg change the difficulty in the main setting menu, while losing your whole progress, because you have to save your progress manually in the freeroam mode). It's not worth the money, even with the 75% discount,

I've played Catherine: Full Body on PS4 already and honestly didn't even realize that this was a prior version until after I bought it. I still highly recommend this to anyone who's interested, but if you have the chance to get Full Body on another platform, I'd go with that instead. The gameplay's smoother overall, and you get extra content like new routes for the third love interest, plus new ones for both the main love interest.
BIG TIP:
After completing the game for your first time, if you decide to play over to see the alternative endings, you can play on "very easy" mode, which gives you a power up that allows you to scale three blocks at once for a while, essentially allowing you to run through the gameplay. You can unlock it by just holding the share button on the PS4 controller while hovering over "golden theater" in the main menue. You can get all the endings much faster by doing this.

Good game, challenging puzzles- and I've just played on easy mode so far. I like the cut scenes, but can be a bit slow. It's fun I hate the main character with the passion.

Interesting style. Puzzles can be frustrating. Sometimes techniques are introduced directly after they become necessary.

I couldn't do it anymore. The MC is SO insufferable. The choices (which was one of the main excitements story-wise for me) basically boil down to "I'm a decent human being" or *The worst thing ever*. I might be exaggerating a bit, however that's how the majority of them felt. Despite this, gameplay (as far as I got) was actually really fun and got my brain jogging. If you want it just for block puzzles get it, I just cant buy into the implication of a moral dilemma that the story presents.

This pc port sucks holy shit. Tried to stream it. Tried to capture it with obs. Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesnt work or just crashing instantly when it gets captured. Every second-third tab-out instantly crashing the game. Sometimes one tab-out is enought to crash it. Game is good but holy shit this port sucks ass. And sadly nobody gonna fix this shit and nobody gonna release full-body on pc too. Pls dont buy this - if u want to play it just emulate. I swear experience would be the same if not better. But by emulating it u not wasting any money if something goes wrong with it.

This game sucks. Mid story and trashy gameplay. It's a poorly optimised game for PCs. Its only redeeming feature is its ludonarrative elements.
