This game is written by a 12 y/o who just learned what curse words are and saw the Micheal Bay Transformers movies for the first time and I mean this in the best way possible. Every 4 seconds a character valiantly sacrifices themselves in the coolest way and then is completely fine because of course they are. The characters in this game will go “finally we get a break looks all clear” after every fight and then yell something like “F**K DAMMIT” as 1,000 evil robots show up for the 6th time on this mission. The main character uses the highest form of technological achievement in history to store his Malboros because he’s just that cool. Shooting your own allies and blowing them apart is completely acceptable to all parties present. Platinum has done it again.

I absolutely adore this game. It is insanely fast paced, action packed, and rewards you for playing it well. The better you play, the more badass you feel. If you are a fan of fast action games with fun boss encounters and destroying thousands of robots who cross your path, then you should definitely pick this up. This version makes the third one I have purchased since the game first released. It's that good.

Vanquish it's really a fun game and also unique third person shooter because if you have played beaten-up games you will finds some of it DNA or influence in this game bacause apparently this game was made by Shinji Mikami who famously directing Resident Evil 4 original, The Evil Within, and God Hand, he also a fan of beaten-up games and some of the staff that working on this game is also a same staff that made god hand also i like the boost bar is being so helpful but also being pivotal to your surviving chance (you are kinda bulletproff as long has you keep you boost bar not getting overheat), and the boost can be also use to boost your sliding, doing slow motion, and give a big chug of damage by puching or kicking the enemy but with consequence that your boost bar will get overheated. i recomment people to watch The Electric Underground if you one to see a gameplay analysis of this game, he did a great job to analysing this game and the fact that what i said here is just half of his video, but still despite of good things that i said about this game, it's not a perfect game, they repeating the same bosses (they still make some changes like for example you fight a first boss and in another next chapter you fight the fist bosses again but now you have to fight two of them at the same time) no unlockable costume, and for those of you who care about stroy, this game is not for you

2nd PlatinumGames game I've played and this was a good 10 hours. Very energetic and cool game. San Francisco will not be missed. Microwave superweapon included.

i mean if you want to close your brain and shot through hords of enemies then yeah maybe it's enjoyable but, the gameplay is super outdated and it doesn't change from the first half an hour till the end, the story is your typical russia vs usa with si fi elements, and that's about it

A kinetic, over-the-top third-person shooter from PlatinumGames that delivers bombastic thrills with a high-speed combat system and a sleek sci-fi aesthetic. But for all its style and mechanical flair, it’s also a time capsule of early 2010s action game tropes—both in good ways and not-so-good ways. Pros: Exhilarating Combat Mechanics: Sliding around the battlefield in rocket-propelled knee slides while slowing time for precision shots is endlessly fun. It’s pure gameplay adrenaline. Stylized Visuals and Set Pieces: From gigantic mechs to collapsing space stations, Vanquish commits hard to spectacle and doesn't let up. Tight Pacing: No filler—just fast-moving chapters packed with action, keeping the momentum sky-high. Cons: Narrative is Paper-Thin: The plot feels like an afterthought—a generic military-political conflict that exists only to shuttle you between explosions. Portrayal of Women: Women are virtually absent, and the one major female character (Elena) is relegated to a support role, barking mission updates with robotic efficiency. She’s framed more as a technical sidekick or aesthetic accessory than a developed character. Hypermasculine Aesthetic: Sam Gideon, our protagonist, is a gruff-talking, chain-smoking super-soldier in a cyber-suit—more caricature than character. The entire tone echoes a 1980s action-movie fantasy: chest-thumping, emotionally hollow, and devoid of introspection. Verdict: Vanquish is a masterclass in arcade-style action, but it’s also a product of its time—one steeped in macho bravado and gender neglect. If you can look past its dated storytelling and one-dimensional tone, the gameplay still holds up as an electrifying shooter. But if you're after something with meaningful representation or narrative nuance, this one might leave you cold beneath the chrome.

Old game with idiotic dialog and a cliche story, but still just a lot of running and gunning fun.

SEGA Shooter. If you want a fast paced, short story(about 5 hrs), 3rd person shooter this is for you. Everything is well done from character designs to the background/level design. I don't usually like these types of games, but I had fun on this one.

You can't make cover shooters great again because they perfected it in 2010. (Vanquish)
