Persona 3 Portable

I love having the option play as a female protagonist and that she has her own separate social links from the male protagonist!

I do like to see *most* of the assets in HD.. However even if you somehow can't tell by the Steam page, this game uses Ai upscaling for the bgs and they are super duper mega ugly. Only buy if you're ok with the ugly bgs

Incredibly, this is still the only persona game that lets you play as a girl. it also has the best soundtrack.

an ok version of persona 3 with the coolest feature ever that adds kotone (the female MC) and some social links, too bad they were too lazy to enhance the audio and to actually upscale the textures and images with no AI, why not just port the best version of p3 (p3 FES) and add kotone to that one?? at this point just buy p3r…

When you want this content in reload but atlus gives you a shitty remaster instead but "nooo we cant do FEMC it would take too much time and money" said Atlus not noticing the irony of saying this then making Episode Aigis the fact that slightly changing the story & dialogue adding a few SLs new music and a FEMC model is apparently more work according to Atlus than a new story new dungeons bosses cutescenes Voice acting music new hangouts ect but nah having a women is too hard now for Portable itself whoever compressed the audio needs to be fired it sounds like it's coming outta a DS the VN style will always be ass to me and it makes the game lesser in my eyes and takes away enjoyment overall FEMC is peak of course tho there's things I dont like about it and finally the AI upsale is ass and should be reason enough to drop

Was expecting it to be a great game, and it was. Although, if you've never played a game that was originally released for hand held consoles and then started playing in on Steam, then it may take some time to get used to it. Either way, this is a very enjoyable game.

Persona 3 Portable will always hold a special place in my heart with it being my first Persona game ever. (Played it back on the PSP before it was released on Steam.) I loved the difference both Femc and Mc have in the way the story is told, and the way that the protagonists showcase depression in their own different way. I remember buying it day one when it released on steam. Now it is really old. I still don't particularly enjoy the Visual Novel route that they took. But other than that this game is beautiful. And it still makes me sad they didn't add Femc to reload.

I was looking forward to playing and making progress, but at the tutorial stage in Tartarus, I kept getting told by Mitsuru to split up the team, but my sub menu doesn't have that option. I also couldn't progress without having to split my team. Decided to just give up!

This game is old, and it shows. Tbh, i only actually finished it out of spite and to do so after about the halfway point of the game, skipped as much dialogue as possible and installed mods to cheat stuff like levels and social links, because that is the only way i would ever finish it. I would very strongly recommend you get Persona 3 Reload instead of this, it is all modernised and has all the bad parts ironed out into an actually fun experience (and is genuinely one of my top 5 games, unlike portable). Besides, if you want this version for the FEMC, there are mods now for P3R that change the protag to FEMC, so there is literally no reason to choose this game.

You can romance Shinjro and that makes it worth it

If you're looking for a first experience of P3 you should play P3R, but I personally like P3P better because of the dual main characters, (Makoto Yuki, Minato Arisato) MC and (Kotone Shiomi) FeMC, but even if you want to play P3P for FeMC you could just mod FeMC into P3R. Something about the visuals is so appealing to me, just because I'm usually into more retro and old stuff. But if you're looking for a more general visual experience such as cutscenes and have played P5 or P5R just go for P3R. In conclusion: P3R is more beginner friendly, P3P is more for an extended experience
