Despite being a different game than the other yakuza games, it's still fun to play The story as usual keeps you interested Gameplay is fun Graphice are fine Definitely worth playing It's sad that the new ones are overpriced

The swap to unreal engine, questionable enemy designs, including trooper cards into normal gameplay (and as a byproduct letting bosses use them aswell) and the grindiness to get decent equipment really weight down what otherwise would be a really fun game. Buy the game on sale if you just REALLY want more of the Like a Dragon series, otherwise stay away and you wouldn't be missing out on much. The bad outweights the good of this game.

kiryu's source of strength was power of love all along? absolute cinema If this is your 1st RGG game or played only few, definitely not worth it, this is the avengers of RGG where some characters from the mainline games appear

Really disappointing, coming as a massive Yakuza fan. Everything in the game is a constant grind. Grind EXP. Grind money. Grind friendships. Grind materials. Grind trooper cards. Grind farming. Grind dungeons. You know what this game really grinds? MY GEARS!!!!!

good game follow this series trend of serious and heart felt main line story and wacky side story (some with heart felt twist, but still wacky)

I want to kind of recommend, kind of not recommend this game... On paper, a Yakuza game on a Samurai setting with the Shinsengumi at the center of the story looks great, and honestly there is no complains from my side here. The setting, story, pacing...all incredible. The choices of how to represent each character in this setting, masterful. Even in a game with mediocre graphics, our beloved character's faces stand out as incredibily detailed and well animated, and the voice acting is top tier as usual. Soundtrack is solid, too. The problems with LaD:Isshin lie in two main aspects: first, the combat system could honestly use some more work - 4 fighting styles seem to be a lot to experiment with, but two of them are almost useless. There is a card system and a crafting system which could spice things up, but they are so grindy that it is hardly worth it. There are also some questionable decisions regarding difficult settings: playing on hard doesn't add any new patterns or make enemies more aggressive, it just makes them damage sponges, making things even more tedious. Second major letdown: minigames and substories - while not mandatory, they are essential to the experience of this saga's entries, but they seem to get on the way more than usual and lack any interest. All of this hurts the game's overall lenght badly, to the point that's it's worth to just rush the game without completing them. While this is still a decent entry, a bit more refinement on the combat system and better choice for side activities would have boosted the game considerably. I would rank this game in the mid-low 7s/10

Overall, it's a great game. I love the characters, the story, most of it is pretty nice. But the combat is TERRIBLE. Most of the styles are very hard to use and it also introduces a "card" mechanic where you can use special abilities based off troop members, which provide even more confusion. Most of the bosses are very difficult due to how confusing and all over the place the combat is. Everything is pretty decent, other than the combat. It fucking sucks.

This one feels very... different from the rest of the series. AND IT'S EXACTLY WHAT MAKES IT GREAT. My favorite part was the whole Haruka storyline- the ending that Kiryu deserved, just done in a different lifetime.

The grind is brutal yes, especially for 100% but hands down my fav RGG game of all-time. Alot of weapons to find, craft and upgrade Great storyline Silly substories Fighting, style switching and gameplay very smooth A large farming minigame which only gets better with upgrades VIRTUE VIRTUE VIRTUE, you need plenty of this. Difficulty change possible in NG+ possible. Some minigames will test your patience and sanity. 10/10 game, my playing hours prove this!

So first thing off, the performance side of this game is terrible. I don't know if it's caused by Unreal Engine or something else, but the micro stutter and slow texture loading were driving me nuts. Now story wise, this game is also kinda ass and is heavily carried by the side content (mainly the farming and dungeon crawling minigames). But the worst thing must be the ending which, in my opinion, is genuinely absolutely brain-rotten (they really tried painting
Takechi
in good light at the last minute so he can have a happy ending with Ryoma ). Overall, prob one of the lowest yakuza games I played, but I could still find some aspects enjoyable and worthwhile.

why is this game terrible? The fighting styles just arent that interesting bro. Yeah it was cool first fighting with sword only, then gun, then gun and sword, but lets be honest after like 5 hours you've kinda seen it and i feel really limited with the amount of ways i can fight enemies. Gun gameplay is literally braindead bro it was never good bro i mean come on this is yakuza we talking about how can it be god? the progression of new styles/fighting techniques/combos is so. fucking. slow. and every skill is a drag to upgrade. then when you finaly get a fucking orb the next 3 upgrades are "increase health by 0.0001 % or some fucking shit. the training orbs allow literally to "master" one skill, i did that for the katana but even that left me wishing for more bro. Certain orb slots things are locked behind.. well, locks, and to unlock them you need to do shit, for melee it wasn't that bad you would train with old man komaki and then do some street brawls, it was fun and not too frustrating, for the sword one I think you needed to show him certain swords. WTF?? WHERE TF DO I GET THAT ITEM? I DONT KNOW, ITS NOT COMMUNICATED. with brawler i knew exactly what i had to do to unlock the skills (even if getting the orbs to ultimately use them took unreasonably long to the point where I increased the XP multiplier by 999 3/5ths into the game) but with the swords I had no clue!! it was so fucking annoying and such a stupid way to progress-lock this fighting style. and EVEN AFTER I CHEATED AND HAD EVERYTHING UNLOCKED IT WAS STILL FUCKING BORING!!!! IT WAS BORING BRO!! introduce a new heat action or combo extensions in more reasonable time with a more managable frequency and I'll actually enjoy learning and mastering this fighting style, but not with this fucking game. did i mention gunman was braindead? lets talk about melee, its b.o.r.i.n.g. X, X, X, X, Y and he does the funny slap that was funny for the first 5 times but thats abt it bro. so, brawler was extremely underwhelming (it also became pretty much unusable after like 20 minutes cuz the katana does twice a full combo worht of damage in one swing), gunman was braindead (the heat action were a bit nice (Y when enemy with swords attacks from behind), but since all combos and the fighting style in itself was unsatisfying, plain and not interesting it didn't make it any beter), katana and gun was basically okay low damage but you get never hit hahaha so fun and challening i love using 100% of my brain spamming X and sometimes A or B. Brain fucking dead. Katana was a bit cool when you blocked correctly you like parried but even then it felt unconsistent, sometimes the enemeies just didnt give a fuck and weren't stunned, sometimes they recovered immediately making the perfect timing completely wasted and most of the time while you were attacking one guy with a combo somebody else stunlocked you and you were dead. thats also a problem the fighting was SLOW BRO IT WAS SLOW IT TOOK 500000 YEARS to kill somebody and it was unsatisfying to kill anyone. just complete garbage. I didnt bother with the katana upgrade system nobody does with a fucking life bro and the Squad shit was completely meaningless. I did one cave mission and almost died of boredom and never again, couldnt' give less of a fuck who my lieutnants were some guy made me spin and throw a thunder attack at the beginning of each fight wtf is that bro? its goofy, stupid, shitty, ugh. so fucking braindead. The side missiosn were cool bro but the game around it was so fucking shitty i couldn't bother. after 3/5ths of the game i started skipping cutscenes and all that, the ingame cutscenes werent always skippable which remains a mystery to this very day to me why it wouldn't be possible. i just scrolled instagram while skipping the fucking boring ass dialogues that dragged out for ages. i kinda regret having forced myself to finish the game, addmitelly it was a bit fun again after i started cheating but i still forced myself, usuaslly i dont do this with games i stop immedaitely if im bored but i feel like i owed it to yakuza since i palyed every single game to its full end with all side content done too and shit, not with this one bro. im sorry but its sucks, lost judgement was 1900019100101x better than this fuck. oh also i played on legend which was RE TARTED RETARTED RETARTED why? boss fights became impossible, nice balance, you would have to had played like a complete pussy to ifnish any of the boss fights and they could one shot you, nice, street brwals became a bit challenging which i liked but pretty much any mission became unplayable if you valued your time and had a life. such fucking stupid balancing, the game should be difficult, you should be able to finish each misison on the brink of death with like 2-7 staminax consumed. this game required you to have a full inventory of the best staminax shit to even have a chance if you wanted to play on high dififculty. Easy was trivial and i didn't bother to set it to normal or hard tbh cuz the fights were BORING BORING BORING fighting was BROING which is bad if your game is CENTERED AROUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!¨bro???? is yakuza dumb? the story was ok i didnt really give a fuck after a quarter of the game the drinking scene with kiryu, the guy from yakuza 2 and akiyama was fun and gave me a little motivation boost to keep playing the game. but still bro it was boring man. also i noticed on legend the enemies would block everything, oneshot you and take little damage, on easy they would never block, tickle you and still takel ittle damagge. idk bro itw as ballanced shitty and piss poor man fuck this fucking bullshit piece of ass game bro motherfucker so FUCKING BORING im thinking about it and im angry i wasted my fucking bullshit piece of shit time playign this game i didnt get enough dopamine as a reward for wasting my fucking time into a game from a series whose ohter games are brillinat!!! how can this be bro? i dont ufkicng know man.
