TLDR: Great gameplay. Terrible progression. I love roguelites. I love incremental improvement. I despise enemy autoscaling. What is the point of incremental improvement if your enemies are getting it too? Despite getting more powerful, it's harder and harder to get farther in the levels. The whole point of a roguelite, IMO, is to get more powerful and bowl over the weaker enemies to take on the harder ones, until they become easy and then take on more. In this game, your improvements are barely better than the enemies. And there are huge difficulty spikes where leveling up introduced a stupid powerful new enemy into lower levels of the dungeon. Do those lower levels now give you more ore and gold? No. Same paltry amount, just way harder to get. Also there are a lot of items that you can spend money on to help one run. But then that hurts your progression. You're still gaining levels, so the enemies are still getting harder, but you're spending less on progression. So what is the point of even having items that eat progression and make the game harder? However, the gameplay is fantastic. Very action packed. Very different play style between classes. Loved playing it until I realized how the progression worked. If you just like challenges that continually get harder, this is a good game for you. If you want a roguelite with actual progression, steer clear.
