What a joy to play this game again. I remember first playing this game many moons ago on a windows 95 pc with an intel pentium MMX my god good days. its nice to see some of these old gems make it onto modern machines rather than just left to gather dust in the archives to be forgotten. thankyou lucasarts for bringing this back what a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and for lovingly remastering this classic gem. I hope you all agree

Cheese Rating: 96/100 Grim Fandango is one of the most unique and gripping stories I've experienced. The characters are memorable/feel integral to the story, the art style is timeless, the soundtrack fits perfectly and the writing ties everything together! The only drawbacks are that some puzzles have super obscure solutions and the controls can feel dated at times. If you can get past the old-school clunky-ness then this is something everyone should play once.

1998 was the year that saw the release of many great and iconic games with Grim Fandango standing proudly among them. I have some fond memories of watching my dad play this game when I was a kid. Going through it for the first time recently made it clear why it's so beloved. The world is well realized with lots of interesting concepts/ideas and visual hold up very well. I'm a sucker for pre-rendered backgrounds so that really added to the enjoyment of exploring the 8th underworld. But it's the fun, superbly-voiced characters that really brings everything to life. All their performances are a great compliment to the writing and humor. Like a lot of old-school adventure games, figuring out exactly what you need or how to proceed can be tricky and some solutions are a bit out there; nothing too surprising for those used to these games. The game has some technical issues you might run into so make sure you save frequently and on different slots just in case. Those issues aside, Grim Fandango is absolutely worth it even now. Fortunately, it will take a lot less time than 4 years to see the end of this journey.

Love this title, brought me back to the classic point and click adventure games I grew up with. The remaster looks and sounds great.

I cannot recommend this game enough. I haven't showed it to a single person who hasn't loved it, and this includes friends who either never played an adventure game before or just weren't into the genre. Hilarious, lovable characters, an engaging story, absolutely stunning locations, puzzles that are satisfying to figure out even at their hardest, and one of the better endings for an adventure game. The absolute apex of the genre to this day if you ask me.

The last classic Point and Click that released in an era where no one wanted them anymore. Please do yourself a favor and play it.

Review by a girl player if that is what you are looking for. I'd played it when it was released such a long time ago and I played again for pure nostalgia. I'm so happy I did. Grim Fandango is a good point-and-click game and it has aged well. The story is still the best feature in its mix of detective noire and Dia de los Muertos. The puzzles not so much with a lot of them demanding try-and-error more than logic, however, it's not so frustrating to the point of making one giving up the game. There's a lot of easter eggs for the fans of this kind of stories and it will keep you entertained for a weekend easily.

Great writing, and lovable characters. Some of the puzzles are too cryptic, or maybe I'm terrible at puzzles. 8/10

I can see why this game is so beloved. The puzzles are just the right amount of difficulty to keep you guessing for hours.

Genuinely one of the best games if not the best of it's genre. Great story, Great art style, Great characters(and voice acting) and a very satisfying heartwarming ending to this perilous adventure story. 10/10 for me (even if some of the puzzles solutions seem crazy without a guide and that vault... lol)

This is a game masterfully immersed in its theme. I've never seen quite anything like it.

I love these old story-driven adventure games, and Grim Fandango is one of the best. The remaster is beautiful while staying true to the original, the soundtrack is amazing, and the story is so much fun! There are no minimaps, waypoints, or even a journal to track mission goals so just use a guide and treat it like an interactive movie and enjoy your adventure through the land of the dead!

Well, started out ok with decent graphics & animation, but went downhill fast. It's virtually impossible to know what to do & where to go in this game. A quick online search indicated that everyone was using a guide to progress in this game. I tried not to, but which direction to walk in & what are you supposed to do there? Randomly doing things would end up with missing key items. The clown part requires you to get specific things & I did not know to do that. How could I. Anyway, I played for a while obediently following a guide & that resulted in the game being a CHORE. I think I was maybe 20% into the game. Were there any good puzzles - no. Was the dialog smart & interesting - no. I've played some really great point & click games & this is not one of them. I'll never go near an old point & click game ever again.
