One of my favorite games of all time. If you enjoy metal music, Jack Black, or strategy games, this one is for you. The game starts as a standard action adventure/ hack and slash, but before you know it, you are commanding units on the battlefield. 10/10

How the heck haven't I reviewed this before? But in the light of the passing of Ozzy friggin' Osbourne, it seems fitting to recommend his appearance in one of Jack Black's finest works. A wild fantasy action game (with some weird strategy bits bolted on) inspired by multiple eras and genres of metal. One of the most stylish things I've ever played, with a massive metal soundtrack fitting its themes. A weird world to explore, and tons of crazy characters to meet, from Ozzy to Lemmy and beyond. Like Ozzy himself, there's nothing quite like this.

As beloved as this game, it's developer and it's characters (cast) are, this might have been better as a movie or an animated series. The vibes are immaculate, but the gameplay is just not there.

Such a good fucking game. Played it at release and it was underrated then, and underrated now. There’s still never been anything like it and most like never will be.

This one is pretty fun game. Cannot say that is very cool game, but its very unique game. Has some problems that could be fixed in therms of gameplay, but in general, worth trying. Maybe you will like it. Still recommend it for its humor and uniqueness

Brütal Legend is an amazing gem in many many ways. It plays right into the Heavy Metal power fantasy, if you like metal already then you will love it. It sports a trifecta of hack-and-slash, maniacal driving, and RTS mechanics during pivotal story beats. The first is good, the second is peak, the third is the more forgettable aspect of the game (not bad by a long shot however). The voice acting is great across the board, and the story serves as competent vehicle to get you to do cool stuff. For me however, its soundtrack must be brought up as a huge plus. It has a broad selection from various subgenres and you are likely to walk away from this game having discovered some music that you might never have listened to under other circumstances.

This is a masterpiece, one of a kind Metal World game. The exploration is awesome and rewarding and buying parts with Ozzy is awesome! Some parts are kind of weird because of the strategy part of the game, some times you can get lost in what to do and what is happening at the battlefield at some missions.

Yeah this one's a gem. Hits even harder if you know the entire soundtrack, and love Jack Black's comedy. I was very sad to see that it lags on the 1st gen Steam Deck, but I'll definitly 100% it on my Desktop PC.

Would be so much better if they just went fully down the hack and slash route instead of throwing in really grating and boring RTS + TD into the mix which sours the whole experience so much. Everything else about the game is great and enjoyable except that and its enough to bring it down a lot. The game has a great first leg and I liked the secondary missions but I dreaded getting to the TD missions which are unavoidable if you want to complete the story. It really turns the game into a sluggish chore. Really sucks because everything else is badass.

Crazy to think this game has existed since 13 October 2009 which was the release on the consoles before PC got it because I remember seeing it on Steam at some point and got it immediately to see JB in that intro again and again. Immediately taking me back to the Tenacious D times as well. But time to go back in again, been playing this since the Xbox days and I'll still continue to play this, I returned for Lemmy. Now I am returning for Ozzy! Rest In Peace Guardian Of Metal and Killmaster!!! I am grateful to still be able to play this and soon it'll be time to unleash the sweet power of metal again!!! \m/ Gave up expecting a sequel though, JB and especially DFP seemed to have of left this series behind while we still had the living legends. The game is normally 3rd person also with driving but the stage battles make it really special. The combos, riffs and troops designs are also something amazingly metal. Still wish we could have the General Lionwhyte troop style as well even if it was for multiplayer. There are a few first person segments but the game is also mainly a lot of 3rd person combat, shredding a guitar and driving around with strategic battles with rock stages. The music is absolutely amazing, the world is immersive and I've played this game non stop for years. The strategy part of it is quite unique as you call your troops from the stage and upgrade your stage and troops as well. I will admit the story has brilliant comedy as well... SILENCE GROUNDWALKER!!! The story is open world with story missions and side missions plus finding collectables from music to play while driving or rocking out to guitar riffs that give you advantages. Doing jumps with your car and upgrading all of your equipment with a really awesome friend. Oh also you can get your car back by playing a riff on your guitar!!! How awesome is that??? I can definitely recommend this for a good time but like Ozzy and Lemmy, I say keep going on and staying strong living your dreams till the very end. The metalverse is big. \m/ Keep rocking hard and keep your hands held high for all of metalkind!!! Also the community is really nice from those that I have met and helpful with completing achievements, I've seen a lot of people wanting to complete all of them which I still need to do myself actually.

This game is action packed with good gameplay and metal/rock experience with tower defense and stratagem, i recommend checking this game out!
