It begins with fire. Not the kind that warms — the kind that devours. The city screams in sirens and smoke. Ash sticks to your skin. Streets you once knew twist into something unrecognizable, swallowed by panic and rot. The world feels like it’s ending — not with silence, but with teeth. People run, but not fast enough. Doors slam, barricades fall, voices fade. Infection spreads like a whisper passed from hand to hand, and suddenly everything familiar turns hostile. But the worst part isn’t the chaos. It’s the rhythm. The sound that doesn’t stop. The footsteps. Measured. Heavy. Inevitable. You run until your lungs burn, and still — it’s behind you. Not hunting for food. Not for revenge. Just… to end you. Walls collapse. Creatures claw through the dark. Streets become labyrinths of debris and blood. You keep moving, not because you’re brave, but because stopping means becoming part of the rubble. Weapons buy you seconds, not safety. Choices feel like coin flips made in fire. And through it all, that sound returns: those steps, like a countdown you can’t reset. But something awakens inside you. A refusal. A flicker of fight buried beneath the fear. You slam a door. You fire a shot. You scream not because you’re afraid — but because you’re still alive. And maybe, just maybe, survival isn’t about escaping what chases you. Maybe it’s about proving that no matter how monstrous the world becomes — there’s still someone in the rubble who refuses to break.

Reviewing (mostly) every game (or DLC) in my library, part 135: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆☆ (7/10) Resident Evil 3 (Remake) is a slick, punchy, and high-octane reimagining of a PS1 classic that shines when it remembers it’s supposed to be a survival horror game. Unfortunately, it too often forgets that—swerving hard into action territory and dragging itself down with repetitive boss fights and a villain who’s more frustrating than frightening. Still, there’s a lot to love here. The opening segment is incredible, the gunplay is tight and responsive, and Jill Valentine remains one of the most compelling protagonists in the franchise. If you go in expecting a fast-paced, zombie-blasting theme park ride rather than a tense horror crawl, you’ll likely come away satisfied. Just … maybe not scared. 🔫 Pros:
Strong voice acting and character animation. Jill’s performance carries the entire game. She's snarky, competent, and resilient in a way that feels grounded even amid the chaos. Carlos also gets more screentime and comes off more likable than in the original. The facial animations and lip-syncing are excellent.
Excellent gunplay and satisfying arsenal. Weapons feel punchy and impactful. Every shot has weight, especially with the shotgun and grenade launcher. The dodge mechanic, while timing-based, adds a fluidity to combat that encourages skill over brute force. Blasting zombies feels good.
Leans into survival horror in the early game. The first third of the game—in the city streets, dodging Nemesis in dark alleys—is the highlight. Resource management is tight, enemies are threatening, and the pace is just slow enough to build tension. For a brief while, it really feels like RE2 Remake’s moody sibling.
Visually stunning. Raccoon City has never looked better. Neon signs, rain-slicked pavement, and ruined storefronts give the setting a cinematic polish. The RE Engine continues to impress with lighting, texture work, and atmospheric detail.
😠 Cons:

Too action-heavy for its own good. While the remake starts strong with moody lighting and a desperate dash through a ruined Raccoon City, it quickly shifts into a bombastic action game. Explosions, set pieces, and waves of enemies dominate the second half. Ammo becomes too plentiful, resources are rarely scarce, and there’s little incentive to sneak past or carefully manage threats. The worst example of this was the "Defend Jill" mission. Just boring.
Nemesis isn’t scary—just annoying. Nemesis had the potential to be a terrifying, dynamic stalker like Mr. X, but instead, he’s reduced to scripted encounters and repetitive boss battles. His attacks are cheap: tentacle grabs from off-screen, leap attacks that break your flow, and set pieces where he teleports around to stop you. You don’t outsmart him or dread his presence—you just get repeatedly stunned and hope you can heal fast enough. He becomes a chore, not a threat.
Too many boss and mini-boss fights. Now, to be honest, I don't care for any boss battles in any game. I find them run of the mill and irritating. But Nemesis mutates into multiple forms throughout the game, and each time you fight him, it feels more like a routine than a climax. The arenas are often circular, the mechanics are shallow (dodge, shoot weak point, repeat), and the fights drag on. It gets to a point where you groan when the music swells, knowing you’re in for another 5-minute slog. It’s exhausting rather than exhilarating, and the lack of variation between encounters makes it worse.
Forgettable story and bland villain. The core plot—Jill escaping Raccoon City while uncovering Umbrella’s schemes—is functional but unremarkable. Nicholai, the primary antagonist, is cartoonishly evil and lacks depth or charisma. There’s no mystery, no clever twists, just explosions and shallow betrayals. Even if you don’t expect high art from Resident Evil, this story feels like it’s on autopilot. It’s hard to care about what’s happening when the characters themselves don’t seem that invested either.
Short runtime with linear, limited replayability. The game clocks in at about 5–6 hours on a first playthrough. While the remake does include unlockables, higher difficulties, and time trial incentives, its linear design limits replay value. Most players will see everything meaningful in one run, and aside from Challenge Mode unlocks, there's little reason to return.
Loss of survival horror tone. One of the biggest missed opportunities is tone. The first third of the game are genuinely atmospheric and intense—dodging through fire-lit alleys, hearing distant screams, and scavenging bullets in fear. But as the game progresses, the horror dissipates. You’re rarely afraid. Enemies stop being threatening and instead become obstacles between you and the next explosion. There are barely any classic RE-style puzzles, no real exploration, and no sense of creeping dread. Just more set pieces, and more bullets.
Resident Evil 3 is another amazing remaster from Capcom. Racoon City looks incredibly detailed with plently of realistically looking abandoned spaces, lovely in-game advertising and devastating environmental storytelling. A very enjoyable experience again with a thrilling atmosphere and some of the best background I've ever heard in any game. It takes place at roughly the same time as RE 2, this time from the perspective of S.T.A.R.S. Officer Jill Valentine and the U.B.C.S. mercenary Carlos Oliveira, who called her to help save the remaining residents of a devastated Racoon City from the chaos caused by the outbreak of the T-Virus. Once again working with the RE Engine, CapCom has done an incredible job with the small details: From the in-universe advertising, to the detritus left by citizens who had to escape in a hurry, to RE 2-related Easter eggs and just generally very compelling in-game notes and journalists giving background context to people's tragic last moments before their eventual death thus revealing a code for a safe lots of times. Some spaces feel abandoned, while others feel up-until-recently very inhabited full of details and supplies, which makes you want to explore every inch in this game. The broader environments are not left out though. Smashed cars are piled up outside of flickering neon signs, ablaze stores and broad industrial spaces are just eerily empty. The atmosphere around you just everything in its power to make you feel small, weak and vulnerable. Just like in other game of this series, every single part of Resident Evil 3 feels deliberately put together. Every single room contains useful items or secrets and all enemies have a purpose and is not just randomly thrown in, which is something very notable. What I love about this series is that not every accessible building is next to another one and not accessible from just the front door. No, some areas are can only be discovered when you start solving issues in other houses which then lead you into the other houses, whilst trying to search for a clue in order to solve a problem in the other house. For instance when a fire obstructs one route, it can only be extinguised with the help of a tool hidden in a nearby building also housing a weapon that can't be accessed without another tool that's located past the areas obstructed by the fire, so you are basically "forced" to return to that specfic area in order to take the weapon with the tool, which was in accessible before due to the fire blocking the way to it. Item micromanagement is part of RE 3 again meaning items are rare and very limited, so you need to be very cautious about not wasting to many of them. You might not be able to pick up certain items, so you need to either combine items or run back towards a storage chest to put them in there in order to make space for the items you just found, so you can finally pick them up. This also forces you to thoroughly explore every inch of the game possible, as I said before. As long as you do all of that and don't skip scavenging in certain areas or waste a unnecessarily amount of ammo in certain situations you will be fine. Awareness is key to progress through this game, as you can easily be caught off guard by a number of deadly nasties. There's plently of enemy design here to keep things fresh and exciting ,with the spider-like Drain Deimos poisoning Jill with parasites, Pale Heads who can only be take out with extremely accurate blows to the head with your most lethal weaponry and additionaly things trying to eat your brains serving as just few examples. Jill is way more nimble on her feet than Leon or Claire for RE 2, which gives RE 3 a more frantic- action-oriented feel than its predecessor. She's able to sidestep incoming attacks and when the timing is right you earn a sligh slow-motion effect helping you to escape. Just like in RE 2 the protagonist unlocks various weapons ranging from pistols, to shotguns, to grenade launches to simple hand grenades and flash bangs. Every gun was fun as hell to use, also thanks to upgrades to some of those weapons found by exploring every inch of the in-game world. The player also gets to enjoy and play Carlos and his perspective. He's a little less nimble and agile than Jill with a very powerful assault rifle that can clear any room in the blink of an eye, at the cost of very limited and precious ammunition. His mission in the hospital to locate the vaccine and use it on Jill was very challening, atmosphering and enjoyable. Even though this game is mostly about Jill, the chapter of Carlos is very fun as well. The central antagonist, Nemesis, is very powerful and moves like a giant and you need to be very careful about him crushing you to death. You need to time your doge perfectly in order to survive. The downside is that he only shows up in certain, pre-programmed boss fights, unlike Mr. X in Resident Evil 2, who roaming around the police station all the time, meaning you could never ever feel safe, no matter where you were at. There is no New Game PLus after the Resident Evil 3 campaign, which I personally like, as they were simply short versions of the campaign themselves, so they were totally unnecessary. However, by completing certain in-game challenges a shop is unlocked where you can cash in your points on useful items, which can be used in future playthroughs. These items, such as coins, make your attacks more powerful and devastating. Just like with Resident Evil 2 before, CapCom has done a stellar job with remaking Resident Evil 3 making it feel more polished and modern, which may spur the younger people on to give this series a shot.

The Resident evil 2 remake felt like a bigger, better, more ambitious version of the original, resident evil 3 remake feels smaller, more stripped out, less interesting, less ambitious and far less impactful. But listen, this game has incredibly gorgeous visuals and the detail in the environments and characters are truly jaw-dropping. The facial features of the characters were especially impressive as every gesture, emotion and muscle is captured so well and it really elevates the characters and the story. Overall It's a change that is not frowned upon, but rather welcomed. 8/10.

Even though many hate this game from various aspects, at least Capcom has provided an interesting gameplay in this remake version. and i really enjoy the excitement, because i am here as a player who wants to enjoy a game after i am tired of working, and just want to entertain myself!

Honestly? Not too shabby I bought this as part of the bundle with RE2R, and I'd say the bundle was worth it. Because of RE3R? No. This game feels like a step-down from RE2R. Everything is heavily scripted, and you can't take a single step without a cutscene triggering. At some point I contemplated whether I was playing a game or watching a movie. Lore-wise, it is fantastic. Gameplay-wise? Would never have bought this game outside of the bundle, that's all imma say... Other than that, for the lore enthusiasts, I'd recommend it.

After beating the game after god-knows how long, i had a good time with it. HOWEVER... Once you get to the clock tower, everything from there on began to feel annoying, less scary, and made me role my eyes in frustration. The Nemesis Boss battles is game-design at its worst, Stage 2/3 Nemesis boss battles are so clunky and broken it forced me to take a break from how excruciatingly irritating the mechanics to fight Nemesis are. Jill doesn't feel like Jill, but feels more like a stupidly obnoxious, overly cocky, "Badass" protagonist that does not even resemble the kindness and courage the original Jill from the OG was. She just felt like the usual "Remake Version of OG Beloved character to be this Overly-Edgy and Serious version of said Character to fit the modern-era" type of character that we always see in so many movie/game remakes nowadays. Carlos was fine, no probs with him i guess. Will be sad with a Carlosless world. Gameplay was fun here and there, but there are so many problems that outway the good. Zombies have this Grab Mechanic just like the RE2 Remake, but difference being this is the one attack they spam constantly to the point where 2 bite chunks from them and you're as good as dead. It also doesn't help that they spawn at every corner you turn and instantly get health depleted when coming to an objective, same goes for Nemesis. And i know alot of people say this game is alot easier than RE2R and the Zombies are less Bullet Spongy, but i'm gonna have to be frank and say that that's not what i experienced. For me the Zombies nearly took like, 4 to 5 headshots to stun em, then 3 to 4 more to kill them. And even when you kill them, and leave them there for a while, as you get back through that area THEY COME BACK. I do agree it's a neat mechanic to instill fear and the thrill of having to actually use your rations wisely, it doesn't work here cus the ammo drops in this game is insane. Had like 30 to 40 Shotgun rounds for the time i had. It doesn't really feel scary, it just feels infuriating. Which brings me to the main problem: Where the Hell was Nemesis? Nem is the FRONT PAGE GUY of the game ffs, he's one of Horror's most beloved Stalker villains and to have him come back as this lackluster "Generic Stalker that only appears when progressing the story" is what really killed it for me. Mr. X was so good cus he was able to walk the R.P.D. Facility and be ANYWHERE in real time while you progress in the story. The only times X would be there with you while you progress would be when he's upgrading in appearance. This however doesn't happen for nem, instead, he ONLY appears when you're progressing the main story and is never roaming freely. But as for now, RE3R is good from the beginning, but after that Clocktower segment, beware that it'll just go downhill from there. 6/10 This is a good example of a good game, but it's how NOT to do a remake.

I could rant about this game for hours but I'll put it in simple words. It failed to deliever MASSIVELY and Jill, dont even get me started. Nemesis was the only reason i attempted to try it and he even was butchered and doesnt feel scary or threathning. The original remains the best despite the gameplay being outdated. If you truly loved the original like I did from my ps1 days. Dont even bother with this. Not worth a single penny, even if its on sale. Waste of time. If anything go play re2 remake or re4 remake. At least those 2 delievered and are more memorable than whatever the heck this is

★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆ They had a good chance to deliver two perfect remakes back to back, but they ruined it by remaking a whole game into what looks like a DLC. It’s still good though.

I liked the game, is better than RE2 faster, more action etc...way better. However i cannot accept a campaign length of less than 6 hours, literally less than 6 hours. There is no excuse, also is the same game as RE2 Remake, same weapons, game style etc...just some redesign and some new mechanics. They also copy pasted the RPD from Resident Evil 2, copy paste, all assets and everything. I buy these games together but if i had buyed this game at 50-60 euro's at release, damn if i would be pissed. I am letting negative review anyway, because they can't go away with this. But campaign is way too short with copy paste, assets and maps.

Playtime: 6–10 hours | Completion: Main story + Extra challenges Recommended (with caveats) Resident Evil 3 Remake delivers fast-paced, action-heavy survival horror with modern visuals and tight gameplay. While it looks and plays great, it trims too much of the original’s content and leans heavily into action, which may disappoint fans looking for a deeper or more faithful remake. ⸻ Pros: • Stunning visuals and fluid controls via the RE Engine • Jill Valentine is a strong, well-voiced protagonist • Nemesis is terrifying and intense in the early game • Combat is smooth and satisfying — perfect dodge is fun to master • Short, replayable campaign with unlockable weapons and shop rewards ⸻ Cons: • Very short — can be finished in under 6 hours • Cuts several areas and enemies from the original game • Nemesis becomes more scripted and less threatening as the story progresses • Some sequences feel rushed or underdeveloped ⸻ Final Thoughts: RE3 Remake is a fun, polished ride — just a short one. It’s best seen as an action-focused companion to RE2 Remake rather than a full-length survival horror experience. Worth playing, especially on sale or bundled with RE2. 7.5/10 “A flashy escape from Raccoon City, but it left some of its soul behind.”

i mean its okay, not as solid of a remake as RE 2 REmake and certainly isnt most people favorite. Despite Jill's... interesting characterization, i think carlos was a lot of fun and the dodge mechanic was something i enjoyed.

The remake of Resident Evil 3 is often seen as the "lesser child" of the franchise, and while I do agree that it's not the best, I do wholeheartedly believe it's worth the time and money to play it. As a video game, it's good, I'd venture to say great. It's only really bad when you compare it to the other remakes, or the original Resident Evil 3 from 1999. It's not by any means a bad game, it just isn't what it could've been. I personally don't think it's as bad as a lot of things online will lead you to believe, and I personally think that this game is the best way for anyone to get into Survival horror. Resident Evil 3 Remake was my first venture into survival horror, and I genuinely believe it's a good jumping off point for people who like traditional shooter games like myself. For my example, I'll use Resident Evil 2 Remake. I don't think I would enjoy Resident Evil 2 at all if I didn't play Resident Evil 3. Like I've said, I come from traditional shooters, some online, some offline. When I play a game with guns, I expect to be able to dispatch of all my enemies. I learned hard and fast in RE2R that you can't just attack everything, and for a few days I genuinely despised RE2R, I didn't understand the spirit of survival horror. RE3R gave me the tools to dispatch of my enemies, but it also gave me a threat that seemed overwhelming. Without RE3R, I never would've liked Survival Horror in the first place.

It is true that it is short and that a lot of the original content is not included, but what is included in my opinion is quite good, I like it, Nemesis is not like Mr. X, who chases you all the time, but the little that he chases you, as the difficulty increases, the guy goes from walking to literally running (flying) makes it quite "AHhhhh run he's coming" the final boss, or rather his final phase, without a doubt, in Inferno the worst nightmare of my days, thank you very much for the experience, I don't think I will do it again in Inferno. But in general, a very good game, recommended, Jill Valentine a genius I adore her

I wish there was a ''Mixed Feelings'' option to review this game. It's definitely not the best but it isn't the worst thing ever either. It's definitively the weakest Remake from the Resident Evil Trilogy but it isn't bad enough to make me not want to play it. The idea of witnessing Raccoon City become hell sounds awesome... until you play it and realize the ''gigantic city'' is basically two streets, a couple of shops, and a train station. The puzzles are a lot disappointing too, most of them boil down to ''cut the chain'' or ''use the loot pick'', it feels way more like an action game than survival horror, it's not necessarily a bad thing but it wasn't what I was expecting after the first two Remakes. This game deserved more love and the same care that was put into REmake and RE2R.

Unfortunately, Steam doesn’t allow for a neutral rating, so I’d give it a 55/45 leaning towards the positive side. It’s a good game, but it plays and feels like a downgraded version of REmake 2. One of the main drawbacks is the overuse of scripted sequences, especially during Carlos’s section in the RPD. Five minutes of gameplay → cutscene → open a door → cutscene. It gets a bit much. There’s also some lazy asset reuse from REmake 2. While asset reuse is common in game development, seeing the exact same zombie model appear just minutes apart feels really “cheap.” All in all, it’s an important part of the series, and you should definitely play through it at least once.

For context, I played the remake first and then I played the original game from 1999-2000 (20 years before the remake btw) An absolute embarrassment of a remake, especially following the stellar RE2 (barring a mangled B route) and a stain on Jill Valentine's name. On its own its a very linear campaign over in less than 2 hours, if you play smart you could finish it and still get a refund, but as a remake it soils the name of Resident Evil 3. It rips out the identity and soul of Resident Evil 3, no exploration, no chases. no puzzles. no narrative choices, no different paths. There may be some discussion over the new Jill and Carlos' writing but the forefront of this travesty is the absurd amount of cut content. First is the clock tower, the most memorable location in the original game, that has 3 separate Nemesis encounters, including him aura farming twice. Raccoon City was originally two maps (Uptown and Downtown) brimming with atmosphere and content, and is now cut down to two streets, there's nothing to do here, nothing to see. By removing the city and the clock tower, half the damn game is missing. Significant aspects of gameplay unique to RE3:N is gone as well, Live Selection, multiple routes, multiple endings, epilogue slides, survivor encounters, and especially the nemesis encounters. The Nemesis is present in most of the game and shows up in different ways depending on the order of your actions and VERY difficult to take down. Here, he's a loser that's easy to kill and only shows up early in RC and in 4 scripted encounters where he chases you down a designated path in which you deal with it in the same way. That's already disappointing and there's even more. No extra costumes, no Park, no City Hall, no Press office, no Dead Factory, no Grave Digger, No Barry, Carlos in RPD instead of Jill, and they cut Mercenaries in favor of RE:sistance, which lasted less than a year before EOS and its still bundled to the game. To be fair, Capcom seems to have course corrected since 2020, but this game is still an embarrassment to the franchise and Jill Valentine deserves another shot considering RE3 was the last time she was ever a playable protagonist in a numbered, mainline game. Although considering how Jill was portrayed in Death Island, I'm still worried at how they might continue with the character.

Just came off playing RE2 Remake and I can say this game is just as sweet. Certainly not very long but does not outstay its welcome and adds to the story with some pretty likeable characters. The gameplay felt pretty on-point but the horror was definitely put to the sideline in this title. I dont know if it was just me but the guns felt a lot more impactful when using them and by god did I appreciate the "dodge roll". I definitely prefer RE2 Remake by far, but this is by no means bad. I'd say only play this if you are wanting more after RE2 otherwise you would be fine to leave it. I would give this a solid 7/10.

The game itself is good, but it's just not as good either RE2 remake or the original game. RE3 suffers from too much linear segments and quicktime events. Nemesis here is more of a nuisance than a true menace, and Jill Valentine feels like an action hero more than the survivalist we saw in RE1. This game is also is very short and lacks replayability because they cut a lot of content from the original game. The intro is atrocious in my opinion, too long and no context on why Nemesis is there, or who is Jill as a character. In the OG game everything is perfectly presented, no need for artificial chaos, and in the campaign you had to make some choices that affected the story, with multiple endings. None of that is here. It feels more like a on-rails 3rd person shooter than a survival horror. Hugely disappointed on this one compared to RE2 Remake. I got all the achievements in 10 tedious hours of play, with the "All things unlocked" DLC, compare that to 30 hours on RE2, at least for me. Seriously, there are a lot of things missing from the original game that I would prefer for Capcom to make it available via Steam than playing this one, its a whole different experience. Now, the good things is that it improved a bit on RE2 remake by giving us a dodge button, which is very welcome, but it also took some things out like the ability to leave an item be when you found it. Here, it goes straight into your inventory without even asking. This also means you can't directly combine the item you just found with the stuff you got, you MUST have additional space. Why did they change this if it makes inventory management more annoying? Overall, i give the game a 7/10, clear downgrade from what Capcom did with RE2. At least the story is decent and carries over a lot of stuff from RE2.

Well that's unfortunate. Don't get me wrong if you just really need more RE and are a fan I guess it will do. But I would never direct a newcomer to the franchise to this one right here. RE 2 Remake runs circles around this one and there are a couple of wrongheaded choices made here that really bring it down. For one the zones all feel a bit small. Yeah every RE typically gets to a point where it cuts off prior zones, but the mini zones in this version are so cut off from the previous ones, the retracing and secret hunting feels anemic. The second problem is the game seems unwilling to pick a lane between cut scene or gameplay. I swear there were multiple cut scenes where it would let me control for 3 seconds then back to movie then back to 3 second snippet of "gameplay". This killed the pacing in a bunch of important scenes. Which helped ruined the one thing they needed to get right.... Nemesis, the original's namesake is fairly underwhelming. The odd cut scene nonsense plagues the first part of the game. Then in the midgame hes got this weird run around the arena thing he does in multiple fights. On top of being goofy, it also in gameplay form, is the exact opposite of what Nemesis is famous for (running directly at you). The game has got some cool enemies in it, but the big bad isn't one of them. I'm still sold on the RE engine, they've just done much better with it and there' zero reason to play this RE when there's at least four other ones I know are much better. So despite all the potential here, this just isn't a good RE product when weighed against its peer's.

I don't see myself replaying this game just like RE 2 Remake. It is a super linear game with no intentions at all for backtracking, there is nothing worth of connecting if the game itself is not even that interesting at all. No wonder why is no longer called "Resident Evil 3: Nemesis Remake" Nemesis is not that creature that you fear, is just a joke that you cringe. 4/10 Might be just as beautiful as a Remake can be, there was zero improvement or any idea of improvement at all from the original game.

I just played the " Resident Evil 3 remake ", and yeah — it's pretty cool! You play as Jill, trying to escape Raccoon City while this giant monster, Nemesis, keeps crashing the party. It’s more action-packed than " RE2 ", with smoother combat and a fun dodge mechanic that makes you feel like a pro when you time it right. The game looks amazing — dark, creepy, and super detailed. Nemesis is terrifying and always shows up at the worst possible moments (in the best way). The only downside? It’s short — around 5–6 hours (or even 2 if you're a tryhard). Still, it’s a solid action-horror game. I'm a huge " Resident Evil " fan, and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. ♥ ~⛧ 𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉 ⛧

I love Resident Evil 3 old version, remake is good too, just a little upset that they did not remake it full chapter or map like the old version.

The game looks beautiful, the 3rd person again is great tho it's a bit zoomed in (there's a FOV slider so its aight) same control as RE2, the map felt smaller than RE2, boss were sometimes hard (more so on higher difficulty). the game isnt long to finish, its wonderful, but dissapointing, Jill's personality change was not nessecary, Brad was not the coward we saw in RE1, the game felt rushed especially the start (final boss fight tho) no buildup to nemesis arrival, after watching a playtrough of the og, i feel robbed, it felt like a lazy remake, why is nemesis so underwhelming, all the time he could have killed Jill but instead he played around, after playing RE2 i expected even more scary, dangerous stalker but weirdly enough hes not there, most of his part are w key, then the rest of the game he appears like 4 times other than his boss fight. I understand why they removed his name from the title! -My first playtrough (assisted) was nerve-racking every sound made me scared that it could be Nemesis but it's not, Carlos part was pretty action/boring, in the sense you shouldnt be able to blast every zombie on the way with an auto rifle in an horror game. -My second playtrough (inferno)(yes at some point ive used unlimited ammo gun, but most of the time not) was also scary (mainly nemesis that is super duper fast), because the game is short he's not there often, but in inferno these moment make your heart race (even the w key moment). The zombies are again sponge on higher difficulty but you can skip a fair bit of them with dodge or they are too slow. Wish i played this after RE1 and played RE2 after this but whatev'. I think just for the change on Jill i rank it last (RE2 1st, RE1 2nd, RE0 3rd, RE3 4th.)

This game is fun yes, but most of the criticism it receives is due to the untapped potential it had if the devs were allowed more time to focus on it. That said it doesn't take away from the fun this game offers, while sad that it could've been the best out of the remake trilogy, it shouldn't ruin the experience as it's a good game overall, though I would get it on a sale due to it's short run time of 3-5 Hours

Fun game, bad remake. Tons of cut content from the original (only 1 puzzle???). Unfortunate because the dodge roll in this version is a lot of fun. Still worth playing imo, though probably not at full price.

I left feeling pretty underwhelmed, especially after playing the remake of 2. It's not that it's a bad game, it's just not up to the standard set only a year prior in terms of execution and content. That said, I'd still recommend it purely as a standalone game, because it's still fun. With the huge caveat that I picked it up on sale, in a bundle, so I'm not approaching it as a full-priced game. An awful lot of 3 is just absent. Whole areas are gone, and what isn't cut is abridged beyond recognition. Nemesis perhaps got it the worst, after the first few encounters being relegated to scripted cinematic moments and the occasional boss fight. What wasn't cut, but instead remixed, I like a lot. I just really would've liked to see the whole game get that treatment, instead of huge chunks just being cut out. I don't strictly understand some of the changes either, like the removal of sub-weapons, defence items, and how aiming for the legs just doesn't seem effective now. Though Jill's dodge is actually usable now, which is a massive plus, and I like that a perfectly timed dodge opens a window for counter-attack. It's a bit too focused on being "cinematic" for my tastes, with tons of scripted explosions and destruction, etc. As a result, it doesn't feel like a game I want to replay any time soon. There's not really any room to do things different, and given there are no alternate scenarios or bonus modes.. this really feels noticeably shorter and lighter than the previous game. Where 2R has Claire & Leon, A & B, plus 4th Survivor, plus Ghost Survivors, 3R just has one scenario. It would be balanced out if Jill's scenario was longer, and richer, but it's the same length as one of Claire or Leon's. On the positive side, it's at least still fun to play, and visually gorgeous. I wasn't particularly precious about Jill, so the changes to her character here didn't bother me. I liked the dynamic between her and Carlos. She felt independent, headstrong, jaded after the Mansion incident and the struggle for accountability afterwards. It's definitely worth a play, and if you haven't played the original RE3 you'll probably enjoy it more as you have no knowledge of what's missing.

Way shorter than the OG Version. Which is a shame, the game itself is pretty good.

I'm sorry man, but this game rules. Imagine RE2R but shorter and stupider. Some of the most fun I've had 100%ing a game.

Not the best game but worth it if it's on sale like most capcom games do every couple months. Pretty quick game with not much replayability but there definitely is some fun here just wait for a sale.

Not great, super quick but there is some fun to be had, would not pay more than like 20 bucks for the game.

It's not a revolutionary game by any means, but I enjoyed it. I got this as part of the RE remake bundle - I wouldn't purchase it on its own. I loved getting to explore Raccoon City as Jill and the RPD building as Carlos.

Although the game is shorter than desired, I was surprised by just how invested I became. I'm now trying to get all of the achievements and in-game extras. The story is a little lacking but there is plenty to do if you want to veer from the story for a bit. There are places you can explore even if they don't relate to the story at all.
