Can we finally for the love of GOD, stop saying "Online Co-op" when it's not actually campaign co-op.... This game has local/split screen campaign co-op only, and the ONLINE CO-OP it mentions, is some lame horde mode type of co-op. We need a CAMPAIGN CO-OP tag so we don't buy shit games.

This might be a controversial take, but I think raid mode is the best reason to get this game. The skill and weapon upgrade systems work much better there, where they're vastly expanded upon—not to mention it's actually quite a fun arcade mode overall. It's a shame that you need to play through the campaign to unlock some characters and costumes, but if you're not interested in them you can just play raid mode and never touch the campaign. I wish Capcom hadn't forgotten about the Revelations series. Maybe then we'd have a third iteration of raid mode that has the best aspects of this and the first one while avoiding their downsides. Heck, I'd buy raid mode as a standalone game! Of all the failed spin-off experiments Capcom threw at Resident Evil, I think a standalone version of raid mode had everything to succeed where all other multiplayer spin-offs failed. The deluxe edition goes on sale often for next to nothing. Definitely worth getting if only for raid mode.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 doesn’t aim to reinvent the franchise—it aims to refocus it. After the bloated chaos of Resident Evil 6, this follow-up to the first Revelations installment dials things back to what survival horror does best: tight corridors, limited resources, creeping dread, and a lingering sense of unease. It’s not perfect, but it’s a confident and compelling chapter that captures the spirit of classic RE with a modern twist. The game is structured episodically (four main episodes, plus two bonus chapters), with the narrative split between two pairs: Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, and Barry Burton and Natalia, a mysterious young girl. Claire and Moira’s timeline shows their immediate struggle to survive on a grim island facility, while Barry arrives six months later to unravel what happened. The storytelling is effective, even if it leans a bit into B-movie territory. Themes of trauma, trust, and transformation run throughout, and the dual timeline structure keeps the suspense alive. Moira and Natalia, new additions to the cast, offer fresh dynamics—and Barry’s return is a treat for long-time fans. At its core, Revelations 2 blends traditional RE tension with modernized, over-the-shoulder gunplay. Inventory management, crafting, and puzzle-solving make a welcome return, and resource scarcity means every bullet counts—especially in higher difficulties. What sets this game apart is its partner system. Whether you’re playing solo (with AI) or in split-screen co-op, each character has unique abilities: -Moira uses a flashlight to find hidden items and a crowbar to open doors or finish off enemies. -Natalia can sense monsters through walls and point out weak spots. This asymmetry adds tactical depth and makes co-op more than just “two people with guns.” While AI companions aren’t flawless, they rarely ruin the experience. Combat feels weighty and responsive, with a mix of stealth, panic, and strategic planning—particularly during boss fights and tense ambushes. Visually, Revelations 2 trades glossy production for grungy, grounded environments. Think rusty prisons, shadowy labs, and rotting woods. The lighting is intentionally sparse, adding to the tension without relying too heavily on jump scares. The monster designs are grotesque, even if they don’t reach the iconic status of past enemies like Lickers or Hunters. The sound design does a lot of heavy lifting—creaks in the distance, growling in the dark, and unsettling whispers help build unease. The music stays minimal, letting silence and ambient sounds create suspense. Beyond the main story, Revelations 2 includes Raid Mode, a fast-paced, arcade-style shooter with unlockable characters, levels, and loot. It’s surprisingly addictive and offers tons of replayability. Whether solo or online, it feels like a fun reward for players who want to keep engaging after the main campaign ends. Multiple endings based on player choices also incentivize replaying certain chapters, and bonus episodes add extra lore and character insight. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 doesn’t try to be a blockbuster—it tries to be smart. And it mostly succeeds. Its tighter focus, clever co-op mechanics, and return to horror fundamentals make it one of the stronger entries in the modern RE lineup. It’s not as flashy as Resident Evil 7 or as iconic as RE4, but it’s a solid, moody ride that reminds you what made this series a legend in the first place. A gritty, suspenseful survival horror with great pacing, memorable characters, and smart co-op mechanics. It may not be the scariest or most polished entry, but it earns its place in the RE canon. Pros: -Strong atmosphere and survival tension -Clever partner mechanics and co-op play -Raid Mode is a blast and adds value -Barry Burton is back, baby Cons: -Visuals feel dated in spots -Some enemy designs are forgettable -AI companions can occasionally be clunky Rating: 8/10

i was having a lot of fun at first, then it starts getting boring and felt like a long tedious chore to go through, and what made me give it a negative review is that i couldnt even finish the game due to a bug once i reached the final boss, i couldnt move nor use my weapons, it was so frustrating that i had to rage quit and uninstall it.

I played it without knowing what to expect; I had no idea what it was about. I have to admit I was incredibly surprised. I won't lie, at times I was a little bored, maybe because I was tired and couldn't think of what to do to progress in the game. The cast is excellent; the level design isn't the best I've seen, but it's very good. The weapons feel solid, the combat is good, and the skill tree is balanced. The bad ending SUCKS. The good ending, on the other hand, is BEAUTIFUL. Full of emotions and moments that kept me smiling from side to side the whole time. 69/10 IGN.

For me, this is one of the best entries in the series — the locations, the characters, and the story events all stand out. I honestly think it’s an underrated game that truly deserves more recognition. Claire Redfield is, without a doubt, my favorite character in the entire series, right alongside Jill Valentine.

7.5/10 for me. Definitely more fun & "scary" than RE 5, RE Revelations 1, and RE 3 Remake (since RE 3 remake felt like a rushed dlc than a full game & I heard that they cut a lot of content which makes sense on why it feels kinda incomplete than the original RE 3 back in PS1) I recommend getting it in on sale since you have to buy the other episodes to get the complete story of RE Revelations 2.

Criminally underrated RE title. So many beloved features from modern RE titles came from this game. A must play for fans of the franchise! Claire being my favorite protagonist made playing this game absolutely wonderful!

Really fun to play on co-op, but knowing capcom we'll never get to see what happens to Natalia after this game.

I'm so glad I got this game again, I love the story and Raid Mode is fun, if you have another person to play with, it's a bit repetitive though.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. Like the first game, I used to hear, way back, that the Revelations titles weren't as good as other Resident Evil games, but I enjoyed this entry a fair bit. I liked getting to play as Barry in this one, and the flashlight and point mechanic for hidden items felt better in this game than the scanner in the first entry. The atmosphere in this game is a bit unusual for Resident Evil, but I enjoyed it. It made me think of a mixture between Resident Evil, The Evil Within, and Saw. Overall I'd say I enjoyed this entry more than the first one. I liked the level design, story, and gameplay mechanics. There are a few odd little choices that really show that the game was made with the limitations of the handheld it was originally made for in mind, but nothing that hindered the experience for me personally.

I kinda enjoyed this game but one bug is just killing me, if you die on final boss fight you need to restart the whole mission because when you enter boss fight with auto save you cant control your character you can fix it by changing your frame rate to 30, after the bug got fixed you can change ur settings back

This is the last one in RE series that i didn't play. So far really enjoying it. Skill system is a new thing for me in this franchise, a bit confusing in the first place but trying to get into it. Once again atmosphere is really unique.

Quite fun and thrilling from beginning to end, but relies too much on instant kill enemies towards endgame just because there's autosave/retries and no classic saving systems. The lighting wasn't very great whenever you transition from one area to the next without fading out as it feels like somebody just switched the lights on when you got controls back. (Again, this is very prominent towards the endgame) Still, I enjoyed it for what it was, a good Resident Evil game, just wished there were someone to look back at this game and polished it up a bit.

A great installation in the RE series. Claire's always been one of my favorite MCs, considering RE2 was the first RE game I've ever played and finished in my life at 8 years of age. It sucks she doesn't feature a lot in the games (though she's in the movies a lot). A fun spin-off with more variety of enemies compared to the first Revelations game.

Nice Kafka reference and a solid plot, but the boss fights and the constant recycling of enemies make it feel repetitive and tedious.

Updated review, played on 12th gen intel cpu build. Z690 and using a 3080. Game installed on M.2 It runs great and game is still loads of fun. Buy the deluxe edition. Raid mode played from the first revelations on past consoles led me here. A huge improvement with constant high fps. Sadly it doesn't have the content from the switch version. However finding other players was a lot easier. Made the game more fun. Best part, you don't have to pay. For silly yearly plus, gold and whatever they call it now. So glad to be done with that. Get to enjoy this game and its events. I recommend it if you love resident evil 5, and the first revelations.

definitely a must grab for RE fans, get it on sale it's worth 7/10 I hated the "Little Miss" DLC if the game glitches at the last boss, just turn it to 30 fps, and enter the room with the pistol with barry and it will resume. didnt like raid mode like the mercenaries.

This game somewhat similar to Revelations 1, but it improves upon that title in almost every way. While it was a good game, Revelations 1 had one of the most convoluted story lines in any RE game. Add to that, each scene sends you off to play another pair of characters, making the game feel very disjointed. Revelations 2 avoids most of that and focuses on a tighter story line and more likable characters. Plus, the raid mode for Revelations 2 is pretty awesome. All in all, this is a better-than-average RE game.

I know what game I am getting as I played it enough on the PS4. Just fancied it on the PC as why not? I did really like the co-op aspect of this one like RE5 and RE6. These co-op ones are my fave RE type games. With RE7 being the only SP fave outlier. This game was a portable port. So graphic wise the environments are small and basic looking. The player characters models look fine and more detailed than the environment or the enemy types. The enemy types look kind of low detail in comparison. With less effort and work done on them. This was a weird one performance wise trying in Linux Nobara 42 with AMD CPU & Nvidia GPU. I tried Proton 0.9-4 and downwards on default settings. Even let Vulcan shaders process 100%. Constant stutter in game turning camera or running, but now that's kind of almost gone when I maxed out the setting and put everything on with FPS set at 60. Some slight stuttering when opening a door, but that I think doors are also loading areas? This was a hand held game with small maps that got ported. So lots of door loading zones maybe? Performance wise? Middle thumb I suppose? Not great due to door opening loading stutter, but still playable. This with PS4 no messing around to get this to run. Close to 40 minutes messing about on PC testing this and that Proton with the in game graphic settings.

In my opinion, the best are the most balanced, and this game is the worst because it's too much about balance, and too much about balance is out of balance.

Huge improvement over the previous Revelations game, but the fact that you have to pay for each individual chapter is such an incredibly scummy business practice. I had no idea it was set up that way until it was too late. Absolutely idiotic.

It does NOT have online co-op in the campaign. It has online co-op in the Raid Mode. Campaign is LOCAL co-op. Split-screen co-op only. NOT online. Game is otherwise great. But do NOT buy to play with a friend. I can't recommend it because of how sneaky this is.
Experience:
I don’t know how long people usually need to finish this game, but for me, it took 10 months. I guess I played a little too much Resident Evil and got burned out for a while. That said, Revelations 2 really stood out to me in terms of gore. The dismemberment is impressively realistic — shoot a zombie’s leg, and it comes clean off. I was honestly shocked (in a funny way) at how detailed and visceral the visuals are. I also liked how Moira’s flashlight tracks your line of sight when playing as Claire — it’s a small touch, but it adds a lot to the atmosphere and gameplay. The game has two possible endings: a good one and a bad one. I asked ChatGPT for a hint on how to get the good ending without major spoilers and got just enough to nudge me in the right direction. I didn’t realize how much of a twist it would be — I was genuinely surprised when Moira reappeared at the end. I fully expected her to die in the tower collapse. Also, personal note: the final boss is probably the most disgusting one in the series (in a good way) — it was gross, intense, and very well done.
Cons:

Mouse controls on PC are bad. There's heavy mouse acceleration, no raw input, and aiming is frustrating — especially for a game that demands precision. A fan-made mod helps a lot, but the vanilla experience is rough.
Door transitions are everywhere. Almost every door has a full transition animation. Strangely, there’s exactly one door late in the game that just opens instantly.
Sprinting isn’t explained. I discovered late in the game that you can sprint by pressing ALT on keyboard. There's no ingame instruction or keybind listed for it.

BEWARE:
To fully play through the story, you need to buy Episodes 2, 3, and 4 — they’re sold as DLCs. Not sure how this was handled on consoles at launch, but on PC, it feels a bit hidden.
