Its.... alright.
Don't expect much. Its basically mediocre in every aspect.
But i think coop could be pretty fun. Be sure to get the outfit DLCs for Moira and Claire.

Oh Revelations 2, you're hard to judge. Originally I'd barely recommend it as the full content gold edition is $5 with a good sale. The enjoyable Barry chapters and strong raid mode made up for the painful bits of RE5/6 era design that soured Claire chapters. Sure, the monster design was cool but they're cheeaapp and the game sure assumed a second player when I played solo. By the end I was swayed by the sheer energy of the finale and in hindsight see there's a lot to like, though Rev 2 is very firmly for RE superfans. If you're still quoting RE1 lines to this day then you'll be happy here. Rev 2 allows a full playthrough co-op, locally or by the magic of steam remote play. The game becomes far easier but also far funnier with a friend and the brutal extras like invisible mode really demand the help.
No other REs are necessary for the story, with light references to Rev 1 and being a fan of RE1/2 making the protagonists, Claire "Mama Bear" Redfield and Barry "Magnum Dong" Burton, more fun to see again. Rev 2 opens with amoral mercs kidnapping Claire in metaphorical broad daylight to deliver to a comically evil prison island. Barry rides to the rescue and meets a strange girl, Natalia, a mature child who uses second sight. Claire awakens in superjail and must escape with the implied help of Moira Burton, a childish adult. Bioterror ensues! Rev 2 is dumb even for RE plots with a forgettable narrative carried entirely by the campiness of the characters and a few emotional deliveries, the villain being so stupid and overdone they warp back around to enjoyable ham that sets up hype for our heroes.
Rev 2 plays like your action REs with clear DNA from 6. Monsters are fun and chunky to fight, responding with tight tuning to head shots and staggers for follow up melees, leg shots to drop them or various cyst monsters playing hide the weak spot. Explore for resources, soak in the ambiance between tense ambushes and fights in bombastic set pieces. It's been done well since RE4, no surprises here. The big change is partner use. Claire and Barry are default RE runners and gunners. Natalia can throw surprisingly weighty bricks and point out invisible death bugs and weak spot cysts. The hiccup is that Moira is a goofball with an action flashlight which can stun and set up melee finishers but it's awkward to do all the swaps solo and AI partners aren't up to doing anything half the time.
It's assumed that Moira is played and saving you a lot of ammo and enemy focus, at least for the first half of the campaign. Solo you can swap back and forth freely, making Barry sections silky smooth with simple memory. This doesn't go so well with Claire, as Moira usually gets all aggro in the room trying to blind. The only saving grace is that partners are immortal if they get time to regen between hits, making them ridiculous looking tanks. This sucks the other way around though, damage on Claire/Barry is permanent and reinforces the pain of solo play. You really benefit from playing with a friend, giggling with glee as they run point, soak hits with that immortality and setup ruthless zombie curb stomps. It's a lot less frustrating when all the cheap shots can be repaid with cheese of your own. It's also hilarious to witness the power of Natalia's tossed bricks which may as well be magnum rounds. Rev 2 is a silly game but done right it's a highly entertaining one.
Otherwise quality is all over the place. Chapter 1 is mostly competent aside from silent sucker punch spawns. Claire's sections done solo have ammo stretched thin(until you memorize levels and freebies), damage constant and help nonexistent with chapter 2 being grating. By contrast Barry glides through his series of set pieces, finishing with more ammo than he started, enjoying back and forth with Natalia for support and being a breakout personality. I love this big brave dork's endless supply of dad jokes and superior firepower. Claire's experience improves with a better chapter 3 but the devs honestly get bored of making levels for her with a super short chapter 4. Barry emerges as the true star for the final stretch, though some time padding puzzles make things drag. On replay Claire is more enjoyable but that first blind run had me seething.
We wrap up with the ideal raid/mercenaries mode, a shooting gallery against scaling sets of monsters with quirky modifiers challenging you to just one more run to get all the medals. Rev 2 is a fond farewell to the bloated action of mid 2010s REs, a prelude to the current golden age. It's sour with forced co-op partners, some uninspired fights and sections(waiter, more dull brown levels from RE5, please!), the RE movie-tier bad writing... but there's the sweet with standout environment and monster design, when fights are good, the unintentional comedy and unironically good fanservice. Rev 2 is the game for die-hard fans or co-op pairs returning after their RE5 tour of duty. Get the gold version on sale if you've got any doubts, try one chapter if truly skittish and hit up a friend to really juice your enjoyment.

I WANT A REVELATIONS 3, this game most definitely has it's up and downs, yes the game play and mechanics could be smoothed over and polish but i honestly think it's really an enjoyable game, and it honestly has it's own place in the RE universe <3, same with Revelations 1, the way they are able to play off the nostalgia of the RE games while still being it's own thing is impressive, and honestly i find the revelation games to be a refreshing take on the series, i hope capcom decide to give these games some more love bc i feel for them the way i do the main series <3

For me, this is one of the best entries in the series — the locations, the characters, and the story events all stand out.
I honestly think it’s an underrated game that truly deserves more recognition.
Claire Redfield is, without a doubt, my favorite character in the entire series, right alongside Jill Valentine.

Campaign Co-op doesn't seem to work on PC, first the second controller connected but the camera settings were off. After restarting the game and trying multiple times to start split screen again it does not seem possible.

Resident Evil Revelations 2...
The story begins and it seems relatively interesting, however within each chapter the tones shift quite quickly, Such as getting to the end to finally confront Alex and it's over within minutes, not even a fight, I found this so disappointing.
So the story is interesting to say the least, It's episodic again which I feel on release it worked because you were slowly working your way through a episode, learning it, perfecting it and doing all the grindy stuff like all the difficulties/Invis and Countdown modes. However playing 12 years after release all episodes are available and doing all of that feels like a huge grind.
I do like how the story is told via 2 perspectives and it makes you feel like Barry is just 1 step behind most of the story until the tone shifts.
Gameplay is probably the strongest point of Rev 2, the guns are all impactful in their own ways subweapons are useful and are bottles this time around which I like as it signifies the Russian aspect of the game I find. The fluidity of the combat is what I like most about the Revelations games, they tried something new for the action genre and it worked and it wasn't bloated like how 6 is with too many things to do with the controls.
Enemies are quite diverse, not overly however such as the afflicted and rotten they may aswell be the same thing, they're both useless enemies that don't do much. Revenants are the most unique enemies in the way you have to find the weakness using Natalia and then switching back to Barry to target the weakpoint, or r brute force it and shred them limb by limb. Other than that the enemies aren't all that diverse and most of the others are basically Left4Dead rip offs.
Boss fights are lacking also there are only 2 that I can think of in the whole of the Game and that is Neil and Alex and they're both super shit fights, all you have to do is walk backwards and shoot, when they raise and arm or go to swing dodge backwards and woop you've won.
Environments in the game are good however I feel like there's no real continuity to them for example in Ep1 you use the same facility and radio tower and go different ways as the 2 characters which is good and at the end they meet and end in the same place, the same goes for episode 2. Episode 3 this pattern changes and Claire goes to a factory/sewer whilst Barry goes Sewer/Abandoned mine and so on they then go separate ways and the storyline seems to shift objectively at that point.
The achievements are the worst I have ever seen in a Resi game, this is one way to make you hate a Game by making you have to play a chapter 10 times over until you have achieved all of the chapters medals, it seems almost impossible to get all 10 medals in one run you have to do them over multiple runs and you will get sick of the same areas, cutscenes and dialog. It wasn't a good idea only to then make it even worse by making you then have to run the game on a timer adding stress to the situation and most of the time the dialog scenes go off whilst the timer is still running causing you to walk towards a much needed hourglass and then when you get to it you aren't allowed to attack it because your in a dialog scene...not well thought out. Then to make it even even worse they added Invisible mode which I also believe is on Hard mode. Enemies are sponges, invisible and hit like fucking trucks, oh and they moved the spawns for enemies such as Glasps which OHKO you if you walk into them so they're always fun and they're much much faster in this mode forcing you to go so much slower...
I love Rev2 and always have but the story mode has become so stale after running it countless times to get all the achievements.
Raid mode is the best however I haven't touched it this time around as there isn't a need to do it.
Overall Rev2 on release deserved a 8/10 for how well it played and brought back old characters and new gameplay elements, however in 2025 and after grinding the same story over and over i've gotta give it a 6/10 it get's so boring so repetitive and you can't skip almost anything to progress faster.

Need to use a remote share play app outside of steam (like parsec). Played splitscreen this way with a friend and it was okay overall (6/10). Unique asymmetrical co op is a plus, and would rate it higher if you have a second player that isn't as good at games (player 1 does the shooting and fighting).
Would recommend resident evil 5 & 6 over this as the game play is much better. But if you've already played those then this would be a good purchase for you. About 8 hours overall for the campaign + dozens more hours if you enjoy grinding the raid mode. Final chapter is a bit BS in some difficulty choices (you get infinite lives, just a lower score when you die)
Giving it a no due to it being worse than the older titles, even though it tried something new. It also requires a program outside of steam to be able to play the feature it lists (shared/split screen). Would give it it a mixed rating or a weak yes instead if possible

The gameplay feel is miles ahead of Revelations 1, but that's about it. Level design is atrocious and I didn't care for any of the puzzles in the game. Caught myself dying far more times than REV1 even though the first game is harder than this one. Screw whoever told the level designers they were cooking.

It would be better if it were a complete game rather than being episodic because that makes it quite expensive unlike as it seems.

As a long-time fan of the Resident Evil series, I’ve experienced every twist, turn, and transformation this franchise has gone through. Revelations 2 was a mixed experience for me — both enjoyable and, at times, a bit tedious.
On the positive side, the game brings back a lot of that classic RE atmosphere. The dark, oppressive environments, the return of familiar characters like Claire Redfield and Barry Burton, and the overall tone give a nice sense of nostalgia. The partner-based gameplay also added a fresh dynamic.
However, I have to admit that the pacing felt a bit slow and repetitive in places. Some segments dragged on longer than they needed to, and it sometimes hurt the overall tension and flow of the game.
That said, it’s still a beautiful and solid experience, especially for fans who’ve been with the series for years. It might not be the strongest RE title, but it definitely has its moments — and it’s worth playing if you’re looking to revisit the survival horror roots of the franchise.

The best of the bad RE games, but still a bad game.
How hard is it to make a character that does not control like a retarded tank while running.
And damn that story is so boring.

I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. Like the first game, I used to hear, way back, that the Revelations titles weren't as good as other Resident Evil games, but I enjoyed this entry a fair bit. I liked getting to play as Barry in this one, and the flashlight and point mechanic for hidden items felt better in this game than the scanner in the first entry.
The atmosphere in this game is a bit unusual for Resident Evil, but I enjoyed it. It made me think of a mixture between Resident Evil, The Evil Within, and Saw.
Overall I'd say I enjoyed this entry more than the first one. I liked the level design, story, and gameplay mechanics. There are a few odd little choices that really show that the game was made with the limitations of the handheld it was originally made for in mind, but nothing that hindered the experience for me personally.

I kinda enjoyed this game but one bug is just killing me, if you die on final boss fight you need to restart the whole mission because when you enter boss fight with auto save you cant control your character
you can fix it by changing your frame rate to 30, after the bug got fixed you can change ur settings back

This is the last one in RE series that i didn't play. So far really enjoying it. Skill system is a new thing for me in this franchise, a bit confusing in the first place but trying to get into it. Once again atmosphere is really unique.

Quite fun and thrilling from beginning to end, but relies too much on instant kill enemies towards endgame just because there's autosave/retries and no classic saving systems.
The lighting wasn't very great whenever you transition from one area to the next without fading out as it feels like somebody just switched the lights on when you got controls back. (Again, this is very prominent towards the endgame)
Still, I enjoyed it for what it was, a good Resident Evil game, just wished there were someone to look back at this game and polished it up a bit.

Overall gade: C++ (chapter 1)
Enjoyable? Yes
Recommended? Yes, but it’s necessary to get all 4 chapters to complete the campaign
Replayability: Medium
+classic RE survival-like combat
++horror/atmosphere - I had nightmares the first two days of playing this
+/-bordering cheesy drama/mystery movie feel, but tolerable and still entertaining
-⚠️ this is just chapter 1 (25% of the story!). If you’d like the full campaign, you MUST purchase chapters 2-4 as DLCs
-music would often ruin immersion so I had to mute it
Steam Deck compatibility: ✅
Runs smoothly
~4hrs at full battery 800p @60fps with settings near max (textures maxed, everything else one notch below)
Great controls

It does NOT have online co-op in the campaign. It has online co-op in the Raid Mode. Campaign is LOCAL co-op. Split-screen co-op only. NOT online.
Game is otherwise great. But do NOT buy to play with a friend. I can't recommend it because of how sneaky this is.

Game has crashing issues on both Windows 11 and Linux. Will be updating my review as I have found some work arounds. For the time being I have had to troubleshoot it across two different systems. The Revelations series of RE games are sort of crash happy, don't have any other games that are finicky like these but they are worth getting going cause they are fun. I already made it through RE Revelations 1 had fun with that one, it had issues too. I will most likely end up giving RE Revelations 2 a positive review just with some disclaimers and to get it on sale, at the cheapest price possible. For now though I'm still making it through, I find the game fun except the crashes.

In general it's a fun game, especially for a Resident Evil fan. But i got to say, this game has one of the worst camera movement mechanic in the history of videogames, bruh... it's terrible. When you try to jump from an edge down, it will not, until you sprint off of it, i didn't like that at all. It was like in Resident Evil 6 pretty much, besides that it's a decent game. 3/5

first time playing in 2025 and gotta say it got a good main campaign, graphics are still kinda good, physics, level/enemy design and playability 1000x better then Rev. 1, final boss is ugly af, which I love it, but it was kinda easy to beat her even on Veteran. solid 8/10
