Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition

Standalone expansion for Dead Island. If you liked the base Dead Island game, you’ll like this one too, it’s literally more of the same. Though I will say that this one has some slight issues with some bugs and performance at times. Nothing major, but can be annoying at times. I still recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of the zombie genre! 🧟

-Encounter final boss -Have elaborate gunfight until they enter second phase, turning into a zombie -Use a level 35 chainsaw from the first area of the game to infinitely stunlock the boss -Boss enters second phase and gives infinite rage to the player -spam again and win 10/10 game

Overall, I like the first game a bit more (storywise), but after grinding the achievements, I have to say that especially the co-op ones here are way less exhausting. Everything else, so mechanics, combat, etc. felt pretty much the same (including the bugs and glitches too), so yeah, It's still fun to play it with friends and mess around.

Terrible hitboxes, lots of locations where you get stuck for absolutely no reason. Multiple stages of enemies where you are forced to do nothing but protect NPC's because enemies are at level 131 when you started the game 30 minutes ago. Not a recommended RPG from me, nor is the 2nd version they made because they were too lazy to fix the first one.

The island is a beautiful and suggestive setting setting but the game mechanic is annoying, too often you die without an apparent reason : a zombie you can see throw a single knife and you are dead, a Suicider *behind a wall} explode and you are dead, the weapons are too ineffective, you have to strike like a crazy to kill common zombies, the weapons damage , and you have continuously to repair them that means you have to loot a consistent time to gain resource to maintain the equipment efficient and waste time with menus and actions should be secondary. All those factors kill the suspense , the climax in a survival horror that is IMHO a big problem, at the end I feel more an handymen , a blacksmith, a carpenter then an action hero or a zombie killer. Looting should be a secondary aspect, not the target.

medicore gameplay compared to the 1st game me and my brother played it together, and we weren't drawn compared to the first game where it was fun and scary at times. Just a fair warning to those that are interested it has a lot of bugs in game that are not fixed.

trash combat, trash map, can't even walk up certain stairs, and too much walking. yeah im not rlly enjoying it. its just boring

I dont know why I played this in no way is it to be considered fun. Apparently I have nothing better to do.

They should not have delisted the original when they released this defective edition asset flip.

Riptide Is A Good Continuation of Dead Island.
