I'm having a lot of fun with this DLC so far, for 12 levels with New Game + and my love of overcooked it is totally worth it. The worst I can say about this is that it was confusing that there are 3 worlds of 4 levels not 1 world of all the levels like Overcooked 1 DLCs so I was confused on where to go after beating 1-4, but I was quickly able to figure it out. Highly reccomend. EDIT: Reviews are kind of glitched for this game right now too? Maybe cause it is new? It says I have 0 hours and I can't see my review or others. If you're reading this I want to say I have played the game I'm not posting blind.

I think it is interesting that most of the negative reviews talk about how difficult the DLC is. Yes it is MUCH more difficult than the base game however my wife and I are still able to get 3 stars on the levels. Just becase you can't faceroll over the keyboard and beat it does not make a game bad. I love this DLC and will happily pay for more. Great game.

TL;DR: The level design and score balancing are far better in this DLC than in the base game. Compared to its predecessor, I was pretty disappointed with Overcooked! 2. I found that it was too easy to achieve 3 stars in most levels (even after clearly suboptimal first tries). The original game scaled its star requirements to the number of players, but that mechanic seemed to be completely absent in the second. Then, the developers decided to poll the community for scores to add a new game +, and of course those score requirements were ridiculous and frankly impossible with any less than 4 players. Completely turned me off to the game. Surf 'n' Turf brings back those finely tuned star requirements. 3 stars feels like a challenge again. The strategy and focus; the mad rush for efficiency. Really enjoying my time with this one.

Looks good and I'm sure it is good, but it doesn't seem to scale to the number of players like the basegame does. Which is incredibly frustrating because I love the game to bits, but I can only play with 1 of my friends and the point requirements for the levels are so high it's impossible for us to get 3 stars even when everything goes very smoothly. And since this doesn't seem to be mentioned at all in the description, I feel somewhat cheated out of my money. Not to mention that it's a pretty big let down to not be able to enjoy this awesome-looking DLC.

Surf n Turf felt like a great addition to the Overcooked franchise. I liked the new usable items like the bellows and the water gun and I feel like the star balance was a lot better than the previous iterations (This is all based off a 2-player run through of every level) I played all the overcooked games with my gf who was in no way a gamer but really enjoyed the coop aspect. In the original overcooked and overcooked 2 it felt far too easy to get 3 stars and a lot of the time even when many mistakes were made along the way. 4 stars on the other hand seemed ridiculously hard but there are videos out there to prove they are doable For us, achieving 3 stars on these new levels took a few attempts sometimes and a bit more planning but it did feel like a challenge that was hard but manageable so I think the opinion that "it's too hard for 2 players" is unfounded. Though I definitely agree that the star limit for unlocking levels should be removed, if people can't get more than 1 or 2 stars they shouldn't be locked out from playing the rest of the game. It should be argued that that is what the unlockable Kevin levels are for

DLC verdict: Get it on sale OR Get it in the Gourmet Edition Comment: The story continues after the main campaign with the Onion King (and Kevin) in this DLC. You get to enjoy twelve new levels (plus one Kevin level) dispersed into three worlds (four in each). New recipes await as well as new mechanics and tools. Especially the new fruit drinks/shakes are fun. It has a nice difficulty in case you are reaching for three stars, it's can be tough but it always feels fair. Just like the main campaign (and the other DLCs) it has a new game plus once you finish it. This is meant for masters of Overcooked who are looking for and endgame challenge. However, this DLC is NOT part of the Season Pass! So you either have to buy it separately or, for a best value purchase, in the Gourmet Edition. It's a cool addition to main the game worth getting. ------------------------------------------------------------------ If you liked this DLC review you can find more in my Review Corner.

I really enjoyed this DLC, the levels are more challenging than the base game. The new smoothies and slightly different ingrediënt setup makes it fun to play. Finished all levels togheter with my GF on 3 stars. So it can be done with 2 players. However it is harder to get this done than in the base game, but definatly not impossible. Only negative side note is the Steam achievement for the watergun. Cleaning 150 plates/glasses is a bit much for just 13 levels, which not all contain the watergun. We finished all levels and need to keep playing if we want the last achievement. This DLC containes 12 levels + 1 bonus level. If you like the base game, I would recommend this DLC!

One of the best DLC for this game in my opinion. Most of the levels are a bit trickier and challenging to get 3 stars compared to the base game, but the easiest one compared to the other DLCs. I find that there were a lot of shouting involved when playing this game since one of us always gets distracted playing the newly added water gun.

Not included in the season pass for no reason other than middle finger to players.

A whole new campaign. More difficult than the base game, in a pleasant way: some levels came from Hell, really mind twisting. The new recipes are interesting, and the surf 'n turf graphcs are pretty cool. Some levels takes a while to master.

Way too easy, way too short. Especially when compared to the other DLC. All other DLC have been more changeling and had more levels. I wouldn’t recommend unless buying it on sale for less than $4

THIS DLC IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SEASON PASS. Surf 'n' Turf is the first DLC for Overcooked 2, and it's passable in terms of content and difficulty. It's an entertaining backdrop for cooking, with a few new cooking mechanics thrown into the mix. It leans a bit too heavily on RNG and time-gating mechanics, which results in a slightly higher difficulty curve than the base game. Surf 'n' Turf takes Overcooked to a summer beach locale, featuring new dishes and cooking mechanics related to blenders and fire pit roasts. For the most part, it's a pretty well done aesthetic, nailing that warm colorful theme while still preserving most of the gameplay readability necessary to play the game. The most notable new mechanics are the bellows and water gun. Both are equippable items, similar to the fire extinguisher or the flamethrower from Overcooked 1. The bellows is used to raise the temperature of fire pits in order to expedite cooking. The water gun is used for cleaning dishes at range. The bellows mechanic is a bit hit or miss, amounting more to babysitting than a worthwhile mechanic. On top of managing various recipes, you frequently have to top off the fire pits with a few puffs from the bellows to ensure peak cooking efficiency. It was interesting at first, but ultimately became more of a tedious gotcha. On the flipside, the water gun was surprisingly fun and useful. Instead of having a fixed sink for washing, you can now clean from any location. It introduces an extra layer of strategy, forcing your team to consider the most optimal place for dirty dishes to be kept, on top of the usual priorities for handling dish cleaning. The only other point worth mentioning would be the difficulty. Many of the levels seem to be designed around waiting for things to move, or working around an instant loss of progress mechanic. Certain levels feature obstacles that block your ability to cook or serve, requiring wait times before being able to continue. Conga lines in particular are used as a gating mechanic, which forces you to sit and wait before being able to proceed. I wouldn't call this completely out of the ordinary for Overcooked, but it happened often enough that it became noticeable. The other, more glaring issue, is the loss of progress mechanic. Multiple levels feature cooking stations that clear or lock themselves, or an auxilary mechanic that wipes out all of your current progress. These progress mechanics are usually signaled by a screen shake, but it's very quick at times, and can potentially catch you off guard. The result is usually the clearing of your cutting boards, your cooking stations, or the entire map. Ultimately, it came down to brute force memorization to complete these levels. These gripes aren't so bad that they ruin the DLC, but they are just annoying enough that they impacted my overall enjoyment. Many of these mechanics weren't fun or interesting, they just added unnecessary and sometimes griefy difficulty into the mix. As before, it's a passable DLC. It's not great, but it's not bad either. I'd pick it up on sale. Steam Curator

Fun but it also feels like new mechanics don't get much time to breath, some fun levels but then you're chucked into an annoying gimmick map that kills the fun of the new mechanics.

Thought it was fun. Really reasonable to 3 star by yourself, aside from the last level (brutal, but not unfair). I enjoyed the gimmicks and the level design. Music is solid. Worth the money.

Surf 'n' Turf was the first DLC I picked up and also my favorite of the Overcooked 2 DLC at the time of this review. I wont go into as much detail as the main game, as I feel I've covered alot of that and if you've picked up the DLC, you probably know the basics. Surf 'n' Turf adds Hawaiian Burgers, Smoothies, and Kebabs, and all pretty enjoyable to prepare. The new chef designs are super charming, especially Chef Macaw, my favorite boy. Other than that, I wish the dlc at least gave Kevin levels new purpose, but they really dont. But this is definitely my favorite piece of bonus content.

The main issue is that its too difficult for 2 players. Its impossible to unlock the 4th level with 7 stars. We were not able to unlock more than 2 stars for the first three levels. Its extremely frustrating. Can the developers at least decrease the necessary amount of stars needed in order to unlock new levels? Please? This will totally change a lot.

The difficulty curve for this DLC felt excessively punishing for two players. My wife and I spent several hours on the game, and were unable to make it past the 5th level. We've previously beaten both base games (Overcooked 1 and 2) and the Campfire DLC, but the requirements for obtaining 2 and 3 stars on levels, as well as the level unlock requirements, make this DLC much more frustrating than fun. I would recommend considering some of the other DLC for OC2, and give this one a pass

Fun, but too hard to be playable. Even with three players who've beaten the main game and have thought about tactics, we couldn't get to the third level. So, we miss out on most of the content. I withdraw this criticism if the DLC is patched to allow for a more reasonable difficulty setting, because it's otherwise fun. (I recommend the game itself.)

I love Overcooked so much, and this DLC is really great for the player who *loves* a challenge. It IS difficult and will take you several times on perhaps each and every level, but completing them all with three stars makes it worth it. Played with two players each time, involved lots of shouting, and lots of breaks, but we did it. And so can you! Oh, and not to forget: this dlc is just gorgeous. The levels are intriguing and I enjoyed making the new dishes so much. Thank you creators!

I never thought I would love this game so much, but here I am. Yes, the Surf 'n' Turf DLC is TOUGH... Working on those 3 stars with only two players was HARD.... But my friend and I, we made it because we were very dedicated. Some of them drove us mad, yes (not as much as one of the Christmas level), but the victory was so much sweeter. Can't wait to try more DLCs! :)

Very fun DLC!! People are saying it's "too hard to be playable", but it isn't. I played the whole main game and Surf 'n' Turf was challenging, but very fun to play. You just have to train in the previous levels. I never leave a level without reaching the 3 stars. Totally recommend it for who liked the main game! Worth it a lot.

Recommended? Absolutely, I’d recommend all of the DLC. However this one did have a little let down, it was extremely Easy. When compared to Campfire Grounds which was incredibly challenging but in a fun way. My brother and I got finished with it and then came along and completely Steamrolled this DLC without breaking a sweat. It was kind of disappointing in that factor, however though still fun and worth the download!

Probably my favorite DLC, it was really fun to play and with 2 other friends. Maps were fun, the food was fun, it all was in general well made. Too bad it was a small DLC I really wanted more. Only critique is that it was suuuuuper bright, almost so bright that my eyes hurt. I also wish that the onion king had better lines, its a waste of time to read whatever he ever has to say. other than that, it was all great.

You get a lot of levels for the price and the bonus chefs but it is a bit more challenging than the base game in my opinion. There are a few annoying levels, especially ones where you are separated. Still a lot of fun and the Parrot chef is pretty adorable. If you want a bit more of a challenge and like the base game then I recommend this DLC. Nothing trumps Walrus chef.

I always play the game with a friend and we were really excited when we heard there was going to be dlc, we love the base game and this first dlc is really fun. We enjoyed all the new mechanics (the bellows and the water gun are awesome!) and the levels were fun and challenging. We managed to get 3 stars on every level and we can't wait to try to get the fourth in each of them! Always on the lookout for new content! :D

This game is fun but this DLC is really glitchy. It kicks out me and my friend when we play together. During the 3rd level, it works for about 10 seconds then it rubberbands my character then I can't turn in anything. Please release a update!

This DLC is super duper fun. They listened to everyone ranting about how easy it was to get 3 stars and made it a bit more challenging while keeping it fun. So many laughs, can't wait for the next DLC!

This DLC is a throwback to the first game in terms of difficulty, but it ramps it up compared to the main game. This however, is not that much of an issue, as even with 2 players we managed to 3 star everything so far even while failing orders. People having difficulty should maybe try to serve dishes in order, because the multiplier is necessary to not suck. Go learn to 4 star.

The DLC is great. Love the new recipes and the watergun! The level design is great! But what I found really annoying is that I think it's way too easy to reach 4 stars. With the base game you nearly had to do everything perfectly, which is the meaning of a ng+ mode imo. It's supposed to be hard and not managable to do for everybody. In the DLC you're like "oh we f'ed up everything, but well, we got 4 stars anyway".

This is a solid addition to Overcooked! 2. It is half as many story levels as the main game with a tropical island theme. The slight increase in difficulty which forces players to refine their coordination and communication skills further keeps the game feeling engaging, specifically for veteran players who have completed the base game. This also exposes how unbalanced the score requirement is. Particularly, when playing with two players the required passing score is the same as it would be for three or four players. Therefore, having at least three people to play with is important to keep in mind. The introduction of new kitchen tools such as the blender and kabob skewer provide for an enjoyable thematic change that fit the tropical vibe. Adding thematic changes to environmental hazards such as conga lines and title waves is entertaining to experience. The level design is great, the levels all provide new interesting navigational challenges and promote communication. The best part has to be the introduction of the squirt gun and bellows. These two new kitchen utensils alter the core gameplay experience by giving a greater amount of choice in how to optimize task and by shaving off seconds of downtime that occur in the base game while washing dishes or waiting for food to cook. These new tools strengthen the best aspect of Overcooked! 2 which is controlling chaos through communication.

God damn, worst dlc ever. the good: more of the same cooking experience. the bad.: the star/point requirement is awful, 780 points for 2 stars unlock anything, my wife and I stuck on level 1 for a good hour and still haven't gotten enough stars to open up level 2.

One level is crashing every time - 3-2, game restart is required. After contacting support and sending all the logs requested I was told that my laptop specs are too low for this game. I don't really accept this answer as this is the only level that has ever crashed.
