Bokuten - Why I Became an Angel

Recommended. For an "angel" that exposed so much skin and the "depressing game" tag frequently mentioned, the common route is actually quite a heartwarming series of grounded, semi-realistic stories. The true route (the one locked behind the three other characters' route) had the most impressive protagonist growth arc I had ever seen. The supernatural elements were fairly dark, although it did turn quite loony near the end (And to be honest, that whole loony section could probably be cut out without affecting the overall story feeling). The ending of the true route would not be satisfying, as expected. If you have consulted a guide for a suggested route order like me, just know that the first two routes have a quality drop in comparison to the common route, and will lack proper chemistry and payoff. I had problems with the pacing of withheld information in particular. Based on hints in common route Chapter 1 or 2, avid readers should already know the contents of the big reveals dozens of hours later. Although I usually just skip meaningless h-scenes, some of the scenes and not-really-explicit-but-still-censored CGs were necessary to make sense of the common route stories. That one in the true route was even unexpectedly heartwarming and slightly tear-inducing, and made the following scene a whole lot more emotional. So yeah, patch recommended.
